NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NTPC REL) has won two projects at the Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Ltd (RUMSL) auction.
The auction by RUMSL was for solar projects worth 450 mw at the Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh.
In a release, NTPC said that its wholly-owned subsidiary NTPC REL won capacities of 105 mw and 220 mw quoting the winning tariff of Rs.2.35 per kwh and Rs.2.33 per kwh, respectively.
The tender received an encouraging response with a total of 15 bidders shortlisted, the release added.
Meanwhile, NTPC REL was recently given the go-ahead by MNRE on July 12, 2021 under Mode 8 (Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Park) of Solar Park Scheme. (Read more)
As part of its green energy portfolio augmentation, NTPC aims to build 60 GW of renewable energy capacity by 2032. Currently, the Central PSU has an installed capacity of 66 GW across 70 power projects with an additional 18 GW under construction. This includes all forms of power generation projects—thermal, hydropower and renewables.
Note to readers: It is independently learnt that Talettutayi Solar Projects Nine (SolarArise) won a capacity of 125 mw quoting Rs.2.339 per kwh at the 450-mw RUMSL auction discussed in this story.
