Okaya Power Group said that it has commissioned a 100-kw solar hybrid power plant at its manufacturing facility at Baddi in Himachal Pradesh.
According to an Okaya release, the new power plant will generate more than 144,000 kwh of electricity annually, thereby reducing power consumption from the grid to 40 per cent.
“The commissioned hybrid solar plant makes the unit self-sufficient for its daily energy requirement and also supports the uninterrupted production process with continuous power supply even in the scenario of unanticipated power cuts due to grid failure,” the release said.
Components
The 100-kw hybrid solar plant is equipped with 306 solar modules of 330W, each. Besides, it has a power conditioning system (PCS) of 250 kw, and a 250 kwH lithium-ion battery energy storage with battery management system.
The capacity of Okaya’s hybrid solar plant is 100 KWp with 306 number of 330Wp modules, 250 Kw Power Conditioning System (PCS) and 250 kwH Li ion battery energy storage with Battery Management System (BMS). The battery energy storage system will be able to manage energy requirements as per application in addition to backup support, load sharing, energy shifting, etc.
Hybrid solar system
Hybrid solar systems generate power in the same way as a common grid-connected solar system but use special hybrid inverters and batteries to store energy and operate as a backup power supply. This system helps conserve energy sources by reducing wastage, the Okaya release said.
Orders from REIL
In an independent development, Okaya recently bagged a contract from Rajasthan Electronics & Instruments Ltd (REIL) for supply, installation and commissioning of over 4244 multi-standard EV charging stations with CCS, CHAdeMO across the country. The contract is funded by Department of Heavy Industries (DHI), Ministry of Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises. Before this, REIL also awarded Okaya a contract for supply, installation and commissioning of over 200 multi-standard EV chargers in all metro cities and major highways, starting with Delhi-Jaipur-Agra, and Mumbai-Pune.
