Okaya has supplied, installed and commissioned a super charger (150KW CCS2) for a water boat for the Kochi Water Metro project in Kerala.
This is Okaya’s first project in India and second in the world where the company has supplied chargers to a marine vessel, the company said in a release.
According to Anshul Gupta, Director, Okaya Power Pvt Ltd said, “We are delighted to commission this Kochi Water Metro Project. We have successfully manufactured, installed and commissioned the first super EV chargers in India for lithium battery powered water boats and we look forward to receive various such types of orders very soon.”

According to information independently available, the Kochi Water Metro project, promoted by Kochi Metro Rail Ltd, envisages the development of 15 identified water routes, connecting 10 islands along a 78-km network with a fleet of around 80 electrically-propelled hybrid ferries, plying to 38 jetties.

800 EV charging stations
Okaya Power Group has already deployed more than 800 EV charging stations in last six months and 250 MWh BESS solution across the country. Okaya lithium ion batteries and EV chargers with intelligent BMS have all the safety features to protect the battery and the vehicle. All these efforts of Okaya are intended towards contributing its bit in making “Atma Nirbhar Bharat” mission a success, the release said.
