OMRON has inaugurated its new proof-of-concept lab at Baner in Pune, Maharashtra.
The facility is designed to provide customers with first-hand & closer experience, showcasing the latest advancements in the field of Automated Optical Inspection (AOI), a release from OMRON said.
Inspired with OMRON’s unique “i-Automation!” (based on 3 “i”s – integrated, intelligent and interactive) concept, the Lab intends to serve as a platform for customers to explore OMRON’s niche and cutting-edge AOI machine 3D AOI VT-S10 series for varied optical inspection needs of SMT PCBs catering to diverse industry applications such as automotive – including EVs- telecom, consumer electronics, healthcare, to name just a few.
The 3D AOI VT-S10 series identifies and reports all types of Surface Mount Technologies (SMT) and Through Hole (TH) defects with a highly improved efficiency owing to its higher field of view (FOV), higher resolution cameras and improved accuracy of up to 99% of first pass yield (FPY).
Its demonstration at the Lab has been completely automated by seamlessly integrating various OMRON cobots and robots such as OMRON’s LD90 AMR (Autonomous Mobile Robot)- automating the end-of-line PCB transportation aligned with OMRON’s commitment to provide customers with complete solutions.
Located in the heart of the city, the lab will also serve as a collaborative space to encourage current and prospective partners avail physical training and skill-up workshops; get a complete evaluation of their own PCBs and attend virtual demonstration sessions. With Pune emerging as a hub for automobile and electronic industries feeding major manufacturing hubs in western India, customers can explore the integration of technologies into real-world applications across different industries.
The launch of the facility aligns with OMRON’s commitment to providing exceptional customer service and delivering innovative solutions. By offering a space where customers can witness the capabilities of the products firsthand, the company aims to help customers make informed decisions.
