Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) achieved 8,522 million units (million kwh or MU) of trading volume in July 2023 that was 19 per cent higher than in July 2022.
The price during July 2023, at Rs.4.55 per kwh was 16 per cent lower year-on-year, due to improved sell-side liquidity on the IEX platform.
The supply scenario continued to ease during the month due to robust coal production, reduction in prices of e-auction coal and imported fuel. In the coming months, higher liquidity is expected to result in more competitive prices on the exchanges, giving further optimisation opportunities to discoms and Open Access (OA) consumers, IEX said.
A total of 6.24 lakh RECs (equivalent to 624 MU) were cleared in the trading session at IEX held on Wednesday, July 26,2023, at the price of Rs.650 per REC.
