PGCIL commissions Neemuch interstate transmission system project

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has announced the completion of an interstate transmission system (ISTS) scheme, housed under its wholly-owned subsidiary “Powergrid Neemuch Transmission System Ltd”.

In a brief stock exchange filing, PGCIL said that the said transmission scheme, which PGCIL had won under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) route was fully commissioned on April 24, 2024 and the notification for commercial operation was received on May 14, 2024.

The main transmission elements under the scheme included the new 400/220kV, 2×500 MVA Neemuch Pooling Station (AIS) in Madhya Pradesh, a 400kV double-circuit line from Neemuch PS to Mandsaur substation (existing, Madhya Pradesh), a 400kV double-circuit line from Neemuch PS to Chittorgarh substation (existing, Rajasthan), and several bay extension works.

The objective of this transmission scheme is to create evacuation facilities for 1 GW from the Neemuch solar energy zone in Madhya Pradesh.
