Kalpataru Projects International Ltd (KPIL) has reported the winning of new orders valued at Rs.1,011 crore that include overseas mandates in the power T&D business. This has taken KPIL’s cumulative order inflows in FY25 so far (up to December 31, 2024) to over Rs.17,300 crore, KPIL said in a release. (January 1, 2025)

 

Indo Tech Transformers Ltd, a subsidiary of Shirdi Sai Electricals Ltd, has received a domestic order from an undisclosed entity for the supply of three 192-MVA transformers, with a total order value of Rs.32.32 crore. While two of these transformers are to be supplied by November 2025, the third is scheduled for December 2025, Indo Tech said in a regulatory filing. (December 31, 2024)

 

KEC International Ltd reported the winning of orders worth Rs.1,073 crore, across is various business divisions – power T&D, transportation, civil and cables. These orders have taken the company’s cumulative order inflows in FY25 so far to over Rs.18,400 crore. The power T&D mandates included those from the Middle East and SAARC region. Jakson Group has won a Rs.200-crore contract from Uttar Pradesh-OMC Power, for solar rooftop deployment. According to a release, Jakson Group will be the key partner in implementing solar rooftop systems, totaling 50 MW, across all 75 districts of Uttar Pradesh. This is among the single-largest solar rooftop orders in the C&I segment across India till date, the release noted. (December 30, 2024)

 

Servotech Renewable Power System Ltd has secured an order of around 1,100 grid-connected agriculture pumps under “KUSUM Component C-1 Scheme” from Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Authority (UPNEDA). The project valued at around Rs.31 crore will involve manufacturing, supplying, installation, testing & commissioning and comprehensive warranty maintenance for the next 5 years for pumps ranging from 2 HP, 3 HP and 5 HP with solar power plants with capacities of 3kW, 4.5kW and 7.5kW, across Uttar Pradesh. NTPC Ltd and USA-based Clean Core Thorium Energy (CCTE) have announced a strategic partnership to explore the development & deployment of “ANEEL™️” (Advanced Nuclear Energy for Enriched Life), a Thorium based fuel for Pressurised Heavy Water Reactors (PHWRs), subject to approval from the respective Governments. CCTE is a leading developer of thorium-based nuclear fuel technologies, committed to pioneering the research of advanced nuclear fuel cycles. CCTE’s flagship ANEEL™️ fuel combines thorium with small amounts of enriched uranium, an official release said. (December 30, 2024)

 

NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) announced that on the basis of certificate dated December 26 2024, issued by Gujarat Energy Development Agency, first part capacity of 37.5 MW out of 200 MW Gujarat Solar PV Project in Sadla, Gujarat awarded under GUVNL/500 MW/Solar (Phase XI) tender, of NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of NGEL) is declared on commercial operation effective December 21, 2024. Gensol Engineering Ltd has landed a Rs.897.47-crore order from NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd for development of 225 MW (ac) grid-connected solar PV projects at GSECL Solar Park (Stage-III) at Khavda in Gujarat. The order also includes a three-year O&M mandate. (December 27, 2024)

 

Power Mech Projects Ltd has reported the winning of a contract from Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd to provide field O&M services for the 2×660-MW Nigrie super thermal power project located at Nigrie in Madhya Pradesh. Valued at Rs.186 crore (excluding GST), the duration of the contract for a period of five years starting from January 1, 2025. (December 27, 2024)

 

Sharika Enterprises Ltd has received orders from JSW Group entities for laying of underground cables in Karnataka and Maharashtra. The orders are together valued at Rs.8.29 crore and are scheduled to commission in 3-4 months from date of advance payment, Sharika said in a stock exchange filing. (December 26, 2024)

 

Solidus Techno Power Pvt Ltd has received an EPC order in Rajasthan from a leading industrial player for building a 29-MWp solar power project in Bikaner. In a release, Solidus said that the solar power plant will generate approximately 47 million kwh of clean energy annually, and help avoid over 42,300 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. Solidus will deliver the project as a complete EPC, managing all aspects of the project from design to execution.  (December 26, 2024)

 

New Delhi-based Valiant Communications Ltd has received a letter of intent (LoI) from Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh Ltd for supply and commissioning of communication and protection solutions. The order, valued at Rs.8.12 crore, is scheduled for commissioning by July 31, 2025, Valiant said in a stock exchange filing. (December 23, 2024)

 

Jyoti Ltd has announced the winning of a Rs.32.89-crore order (inclusive of GST) from Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation Ltd (GETCO). The order entails supply of 420 numbers of 11kV VCB (vacuum circuit breaker) panels, to be delivered by May 3, 2025. These panels will come with a product guarantee of 60 months from the date of commissioning or 66 months from the date of supply, whichever is earlier, Jyoti said in a stock exchange communication. Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has joined hands with Canara Bank to promote the adoption of rooftop solar systems under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme. sustainable energy future. As part of the initiative, households can benefit from tailored financing options under the PM Surya Ghar Scheme, designed to make rooftop solar installations more accessible and affordable, a release from Tata Power said. Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL) announced the incorporation of a wholly-owned subsidiary “Adani Energy Solutions Step-Ten Ltd,” on December 18, 2024. The new subsidiary has been incorporated as a transmission service provider for transmission, distribution and supply of power and other infrastructure services relating thereto, AESL said in a stock exchange communication. ACME Solar Holdings Ltd (ASHL) announced that its four subsidiaries have together commissioned an aggregate solar power generation capacity of 1023.05 MW in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan. With this, ASHL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has risen to 2363 MW. The 1023.05 MW of capacity represents part-commissioning of the 1200 MW that the four subsidiaries are collectively setting up. (December 19, 2024)

 

NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) announced that the second part capacity of 30 MW out of the 150-MW Gujarat solar PV project at Mesanka in Gujarat was commissioned on December 11, 2024. The certificate to this effect was issued by Gujarat Energy Development Agency on December 18, 2024. The solar project is being set up by NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NGEL. The board of directors of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), in its meeting on December 18, 2024, approved the raising of up to Rs.4,250 crore (base issue: Rs.3,000 crore, greenshoe option: Rs.1,250 crore) through the issuance of bonds on private placement basis. The bonds will be issued as unsecured, non-convertible, non-cumulative, redeemable, taxable POWERGRID Bonds [LXXX (80th) Issue], PGCIL said in a stock exchange filing. (December 18, 2024)

 

Inox Wind Ltd announced that it has bagged a 60-MW order from Serentica Renewables for for the supply of 3-MW class turbines to be delivered within H1CY25. Additionally, IWL will provide multi-year post commissioning O&M services for these WTGs, which will be erected at the hybrid renewable energy project site being developed by Serentica in Karnataka. Gensol Engineering Ltd announced that it has won a turnkey order from a leading steel producer in Punjab for putting up a 22-MW ground-mounted solar power plant. The contract of value Rs.88 crore is to be executed in six months, Gensol said, adding that the project will see deployment of high-efficiency bifacial solar modules. (December 18, 2024)

 

Indian Metals & Ferro Alloys Ltd (IMFA) has announced a joint venture with JSW Green Energy to source renewable energy for its smelting operations. IMFA has signed a binding term sheet with JSW Green Energy One Ltd and JSW Green Energy Seven Ltd, and will invest Rs.83.26 crore in a hybrid project combining 50 MW AC solar and 100 MW wind for a total contracted capacity of 70 MW. IMFA will subsequently sign a 25-year PPA as a captive consumer.  (December 17, 2024)

 

RMC Switchgears Ltd has received an order valued at Rs.90 crore from a system integrator for supply, testing and commissioning of 5,000 solar pumps in Maharashtra. The order, covering pumps of rating 3HP, 5HP and 7HP, is scheduled for completion in FY26. Maharashtra has planned to install 1.5 million solar pumps towards greening of the agricultural sector. Of these, over 1 lakh solar pumps have been installed so far. (December 17, 2024)

 

Texmaco Rail & Engineering Ltd, in a stock exchange filing, said that it has received an order valued at Rs.187.41 crore from Chhattisgarh State Power Transmission Company Ltd. To be executed over a period of 15 months, the order entails construction of nine 132kV transmission lines with an aggregate running length of 291 km. (December 17, 2024)

 

The board of Kalpataru Projects International Ltd (KPIL), on December 16, 2024, approved the allotment of 83.26 lakh equity shares, each priced at Rs.1,199, aggregating nearly Rs.1,000 crore, to qualified institutional investors. (December 17, 2024) [Update: In a communication dated December 18, 2024, KPIL announced that the said transaction was completed.]

 

RMC Switchgears Ltd has planned to invest Rs.100 crore in putting up a solar module facility with a capacity of 1 GW per year, and a solar mounting structure facility with matching capacity. Both the plants are coming up at Jaipur in Rajasthan, in proximity to RMC’s existing manufacturing site. To be put up by RMC Green Energy Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of RMC Swithgears Ltd, both the plants are expected to be commercially operations by July 2025. (December 16, 2024)

 

Waaree Energies Ltd has announced a strategic CSR initiative in partnership with IIT Bombay towards advanced research and development pursuits related to solar perovskite cells. The partnership will involve Waaree Energies and IIT Bombay jointly working on creation of an advanced Fabrication and Characterization setup for high-efficiency perovskite solar cells, which are known to represent a breakthrough in solar technology, renowned for their remarkable light absorption and efficiency potential. Siemens Ltd announced that Harish Shekar is appointed as the Chief Financial Officer of the company’s Energy Business effective January 1, 2025. Shekar has been with Siemens for over 27 years, holding several senior management positions in India and abroad. Siemens also said that Ms Sapna Rawat will assume charge as the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the company’s Digital Industries business effective February 1, 2025. She will take charge from Kairav Modi who would be taking up a new role with Siemens overseas. (December 12, 2024)

 

Tivolt Electric Vehicles Pvt Ltd (Trivolt) has signed an MoU with Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) with a view to building a robust electric vehicle (EV) charging ecosystem by leveraging Tata Power’s expertise in diversified EV charging solutions with Tivolt’s rapidly growing network of small electric commercial vehicles, across the country. Trivolt is an EV venture of Murugappa Group and a subsidiary of TI Clean Mobility. TPREL, a subsidiary of Tata Power, is a a prominent EV charging solutions provider. (December 11, 2024)

 

GE Vernova T&D India Ltd, in a regulatory filing, said that it has received an order valued at Rs.400 crore from Sterlite Power for supply and supervision of 765kV power transformers and reactors. The order is to be executed over two years, and the equipment will be deployed at Khavda in Gujarat, the filing said. (December 10, 2024)

 

Reliance NU Energies Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Reliance Power, has announced the appointment of two key people in its       leadership — Mayank Bansal as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and Rakesh Swaroop as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Reliance NU Energies is engaged in renewable energy solutions, from energy sources such as solar, wind, geothermal and firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) to energy storage such as pumped storage projects (PSP) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) (December 11, 2024)

 

Samsung C&T has signed an MoU with Switzerland’s Hitachi Energy to strengthen collaboration and explore opportunities in the high-voltage direct current sector. Hitachi Energy has been collaborating with Samsung C&T on a 3.5 trillion won ($2.4 billion) undersea HVDC project in the United Arab Emirates. The two companies are now looking to combine Samsung C&T’s EPC expertise with Hitachi Energy’s power system design and manufacturing capabilities, according to the company. Samsung C&T said the partnership will focus on securing opportunities in emerging HVDC markets. The global HVDC market is expected to reach around $110 billion by 2030. (December 9, 2024)

 

Waaree Energies Ltd announced the winning of an order for supply of 1 GW of solar modules from a renowned developer. The order, set for delivery in the calendar year 2025, includes the cutting-edge Topcon 580Wp Bifacial Glass modules. These high-efficiency solar modules are designed to maximize energy production, making them an ideal choice for large-scale solar projects, the company said in a release. (December 9, 2024)

 

Kalpataru Projects International Ltd (KPIL) announced that the company along with its overseas subsidiaries have secured new orders worth Rs.2,174 crore that has taken the cumulative FY25 order inflow to over Rs.16,300 crore. The new orders include power T&D orders in the domestic and international markets, and domestic mandates in KPIL’s buildings & factories (B&F) and metro rail business divisions. Serentica Renewables has announced a significant Rs.50,000-crore investment to develop 10,000 MW of renewable energy capacity in Rajasthan. This announcement coincides with Serentica’s participation in Rising Rajasthan 2024. Currently, the company has 3,000 MWp of renewable energy capacity under construction in the state, catering to the C&I sector. Additionally, more than 400 MWp is already operational in Rajasthan. Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL), according to an unconfirmed media report, has emerged L1 in an 80-lakh smart metering mandate (first package) of Tamil Nadu Electricity Board (TNEB) under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). This would the first smart metering contract awarded in Tamil Nadu under RDSS. TNEB intends to tender around 3 crore smart meters in four packages. (December 6, 2024)

 

Advait Energy Transitions Ltd (AETL) has won an order for installing an optical ground wire (OPGW) of 24-fibre on the 400kV Kurukshetra-Malerkotla transmission line. The order, placed by NRSS XXXI (B) Transmission Ltd is scheduled for completion in seven months, AETL said in a regulatory filing, without specifying the order value. (December 6, 2024)

 

TKIL Industries Pvt Ltd (formerly thyssenkrupp Industries India Pvt Ltd) has forayed into the green hydrogen sector. The company has made an undisclosed strategic investment in Switzerland-based SoHHytec SA —a cutting-edge innovator and solutions provider in green hydrogen field using its proprietary artificial photosynthesis (photo-electrolysis) technology, to produce green hydrogen from renewable energy sources, including solar and wind, for industrial applications. Currently, SoHHytec holds the world record for the highest direct solar hydrogen production efficiency and is globally the most cost-efficient technology for producing green hydrogen, a release from TKIL said. Advait Energy Transitions Ltd (formerly Advait Infratech Ltd) has been declared as a qualified bidder by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd for setting up a 50 MW/100 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) in Gujarat. This is part of GUVNL’s project of setting up 500 MW/1,000 MWh BESS under tariff-based competitive bidding (Phase-IV), with viability gap funding (VGF) support. The project has to be set up in 18 months. (December 3, 2024)

 

Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL), in November 2024, energized a total of nine power transformers, including two additional ones, adding a net transformation capacity of 395 MVA. This took MPPTCL’s total transformation capacity to 80,634 MVA, as of November 30, 2024. (December 2, 2024)

 

H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd has been declared successful bidder by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd for 250 MW/500 MWh out of the project of setting up 500 MW/1,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) in Gujarat under tariff-based global competitive bidding (Phase-IV), with viability gap funding (VGF) support. The BESS is expected to be commissioned in 18 months. (December 2, 2024)

 

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd (SWREL) has received a new domestic order from an independent power products for for supply, installation and commissioning of a 305 MW(AC)/396 MWp (DC) solar photovoltaic plant in Rajasthan. The total value of works including taxes is approximately Rs.504 crore, SWREL said in a release. (December 2, 2024)

 

Power Mech Projects Ltd has been awarded a contract worth Rs.510 crore (excluding taxes) by Adani Power Ltd for mechanical works related to the 2×800-MW Raipur (Phase-II) ultra supercritical power project coming up at Rakikheda village in Raipur district of Chhattisgarh. The contract is scheduled to complete in 34 months, the awardee said in a stock exchange communication. (November 29, 2024)

 

Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd has received an EPC order valued at Rs.1,233 crore (excluding taxes) for building a ground-mounted solar PV power plant of capacity 2012.47 MWp (DC) from an undisclosed domestic entity. The order will be completed in a time period to be mutually decided, the company said in a stock exchange filing. (November 29, 2024)

 

NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd, a step-down subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, has commissioned the first part of 55 MW of the 105-MW Shajapur Solar Project (Unit-1) in Shajapur Solar Park in Madhya Pradesh. With this, the total commercial capacity of NTPC Group has reached 76530.68 MW. (November 28, 2024)

 

Ashoka Buildcon Ltd has received an order from state discom Madhya Pradesh Poorv Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Ltd for EPC works related to 11kV distribution infrastructure. The works entail supply, installation, testing and commissioning of new 11kV lines, LT line on AB (aerial bunched) cable, distribution transformer substation and supporting works. The order, valued at Rs.192.69 crore (exclusive of GST), is scheduled for completion in 24 months. (November 27, 2024)

 

NTPC, in a release, said that an MoU was signed between NTPC Green Energy Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd and Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company Ltd, on November 26, 2024 at Raipur in Chhattisgarh. The MoU provides for development of renewable energy projects, including floating solar, with aggregate capacity up to 2,000 MW.  (November 27, 2024)

 

Premier Energies Ltd has announced the winning of orders worth Rs.1,087 crore, collectively from three unnamed domestic entities. These orders involve supply of solar modules worth Rs.964 crore and solar cells valued at Rs.123 crore. Supplies of solar cells and modules will commence from January 2025, Premier Energies said in a stock exchange filing, adding that these orders have been placed on the company’s subsidiaries – Premier Energies Global Environment Pvt Ltd, Premier Energies International Pvt Ltd and Premier Energies Photovoltaic Pvt Ltd. Waaree Energies Ltd, in a stock exchange communication, said that it has received a domestic order for supply of 600 MWp worth of solar modules, supplies of which would begin in FY26. The order was placed by an undisclosed renewable energy player. (November 26, 2024)

 

KEC International Ltd has reported the winning of new orders worth Rs.1,114 crore across its various businesses – power T&D, civil, railways and cables. In the power T&D vertical, orders included a 400kV transmission line mandate in Oman and supply of power transmission hardware to the Americas. These orders have taken KEC’s cumulative order inflow in FY25 (up to November 25,2024) to around Rs.14,600 crore. (November 25, 2024)

 

Hind Rectifiers Ltd, on November 21, 2024, incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary “Hirect FZ-LLC” in the Ras Al Khaimah Economic Zone (RAKEZ), UAE. The new company will deal in trading activities related to power generation, transmission & distribution equipment, heavy equipment & machinery spare parts, industrial plant equipment and spare parts, etc, Hind Rectifiers said in a stock exchange communication. Bid process coordinator PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL), on November 21, 2024, incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary “Bhuj ICT Transmission Ltd” that will act as a project special purpose vehicle to develop an ISTS scheme known as “Provision of ICT Augmentation & Bus Reactor at Bhuj-II PS” in Gujarat. This SPV will be transferred to the successful developer whose selection will be done using the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) mechanism. (November 22, 2024)

 

Tata Power, in a release, said that it hosted the first-ever state-level Urja Mela in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, bringing together over 470 students from across Odisha. Serving as a precursor to Tata Power’s national Urja Mela annually conducted during National Energy Conservation Week, this event was part of the company’s Club Enerji initiative, which promotes sustainability through hands-on activities, experiential learning, and inclusive participation. Adani Infra (India) Ltd, an entity of the Adani Group, has signed definitive agreements to acquire up to 30.07 per cent stake from PSP Project Ltd’s existing promoter Prahladbhai S. Patel. Presently, Prahladbhai S Patel and Family own 60.14 per cent stake in the company. PSP Projects Ltd, listed on NSE and BSE, currently has an order book of Rs.6,546 crore, the company said in a regulatory filing. (November 19, 2024)

 

Tata Power has entered into a strategic partnership with Druk Green Power Corporation Ltd (DGPC), a subsidiary of Druk Holding and Investments Ltd, the sole generation utility of Bhutan, to collaborate and develop at least 5,000 MW of clean energy generation capacity in Bhutan. This is in keeping with Bhutan’s vision for its energy sector which is to take its overall generation capacity to 25,000 MW by 2040 for its energy security and regional energy integration, a release from Tata Power said. Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has announced the successful commissioning of the 126-MW Omkareshwar floating solar project in Madhya Pradesh. The EPC contract worth Rs.596 crore was awarded by NHDC Ltd to TPREL. Located in the Khandwa district of Madhya Pradesh, the Omkareshwar Floating Solar Project supplies sustainable power to Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL). Positioned between the Indirasagar and Omkareshwar hydroelectric reservoirs, this project features 213,460 bifacial glass-to-glass modules, generating 204,580 MWh of energy annually while offsetting 173,893 tonnes of CO₂ emissions each year. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) announced that Vamsi Ramamohan Burra assumed the charge of Director (Projects) of PGCIL on November 13, 2024. His appointment will be for a period of five years with effect from the date of assumption of charge of the post by Shri Vamsi or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Prior to this appointment, Burra was serving as OSD (Projects) in PGCIL. (November 13, 2024)

 

Kalpataru Projects International Ltd (KPIL), along with its JVs and international subsidiaries, has secured new orders/notification of awards of Rs.2,273 crore. These orders include, among others, power T&D orders in the domestic and international markets. These mandates have taken KPIL’s cumulative order inflow in FY25 so far to Rs.14,100 crore of which 56 per cent relates to the power T&D business. (November 13, 2024)

 

Bid process coordinator PFC Consulting Ltd, on November 12, 2024, incorporated a wholly-owned subsidiary “Wahipora and Sallar Transmission Ltd” that will act as a project SPV for an intrastate transmission system (InSTS) scheme in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir. The scheme that will be awarded under the TBCB mechanism involves construction of grid substations at Wahipora and Sallar, both in Kashmir, and allied transmission systems. (November 12, 2024)

 

Bid process coordinator REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), on November 11, 2024, handed over two project specific SPVs — “Bikaner A Power Transmission Ltd” and “Bikaner B Power Transmission Ltd” — to Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd, the winning bidder under the TBCB modality.  The transmission schemes are planned for evacuation of 6 GW RE power from Bikaner Complex of Rajasthan Renewable Energy Zone Phase-IV. ‘Part A’ of the scheme covers 765/400kV, 6×1500 MVA and 400/220kV, 6×500 MVA Bikaner-IV pooling station near Bikaner, 236 km of 765kV line and 260 km of 400kV line along with associated works. ‘Part B’ of the scheme covers 765/400kV, 6×1500 MVA substation at Siwani, 237 km of 765kV line and 382 km of 400kV line along with associated works. Saatvik Solar has signed a contract with GH2 Solar to supply 200 MW of high-efficiency ‘Mono Perc Bifacial Half Cut’ solar PV modules, rated at 540/550Wp, for use across various solar projects in India. This collaboration, set to commence in January 2025, will span a 12-month period in which Saatvik will ensure the timely and consistent delivery of these advanced modules to meet GH2 Solar’s project requirements, a release by Saatvik Solar said. RMC Switchgears Ltd has signed an MoU with the Rajasthan government to put up a 1,000-MW ultra mega solar park with integrated battery storage system at Jaipur. The project will take 2-3 years to execute and will play a part in meeting RMC’s target of implementing 1 GW of greenfield projects, with a blend of EPC and IPP arrangements, a release from RMC said. Alpex Solar Ltd has secured a fresh order valued at Rs.34.51 crore for the supply of 1,141 solar pumps to the Haryana Renewable Energy Department (HAREDA) under Component-B of the PM-KUSUM scheme. This follows the company’s recent success in securing two major orders worth Rs.525.15 crore from prominent public sector undertakings for supply of solar panels, bringing the total order value to Rs.559.66 crore in just two months, a release by Alpex Solar said. Voltamp Transformers Ltd announced that it has received an order for design, manufacture, test and supply of power transformers of various ratings, from Gujarat Electricity Transmission Corporation Ltd. Advait Energy Transitions Ltd (formerly Advait Infratech Ltd) has secured a Rs.6.70-crore contract from Jammu & Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Ltd involving design, manufacturing, testing, and supply of emergency restoration systems (ERS) for 220kV transmission lines in Jammu Region. Gensol Engineering Ltd has secured a turnkey EPC order from an unnamed public sector utility in Maharashtra. The project involves the development of a 150 MWac ground-mounted solar PV power plant, with a total contract value of Rs.780 crore, and is set to be executed over a 15-month period. Gensol’s role will encompass land acquisition, design, engineering, procurement, and logistics. The scope also includes the manufacturing, supply, erection, inspection, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar PV power plant, along with the development of the associated power evacuation infrastructure to the STU substation. Additionally, the contract includes three years of O&M services for the project, inclusive of maintenance of the plant’s switchyard and transmission infrastructure. (November 4, 2024)

 

Ashoka Buildcon Ltd announced that it has been declared L1 bidder by Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (MSETCL) for a project involving building of a 400/220kV substation at Nandgaon Peth and associated lines in Amravati district. Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Ltd [TARIL] has won orders, collectively valued at Rs.270.21 crore, from Siemens Ltd, Adani Energy Solutions Ltd, AMNS India Ltd and Jindal Group. These order relate to supply of power transformers, reactors, etc. All the four orders are scheduled for delivery in FY26, TARIL said in a regulatory filing. (October 29, 2024)

 

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL), a subsidiary of Tata Power, has announced a strategic partnership with IndusInd Bank to facilitate accessible and affordable solar financing for MSEs, thereby promoting widespread solar energy adoption amongst MSEs. This alliance will provide MSEs with collateral-free solar financing, by offering loans ranging from Rs.10 lakh to Rs.2 crore. These loans, contingent on the bank’s credit approval, require a 20 per cent margin and come with competitive interest rates, offering terms of up to 7 years, a release by Tata Power said. Training camps for safety awareness among the maintenance staff of transmission lines and extra high tension substations of Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL) were recently organized in various locations in Indore area. In these camps, a total of 71 maintenance staff including 20 transmission line maintenance staff and 40 outsourced staff of substations were given training to carry out the work cautiously, keeping in mind various safety measures in transmission lines and substations. On this occasion, the safety manual issued by MPPTCL was also explained in detail. (October 28, 2024)

 

Hitachi Building Systems Co Ltd and Hitachi Lift India Pvt Ltd have successfully secured an order for 56 units of elevators and escalators from CRC Group for CRC The Flagship in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India. The project is one of the most prestigious commercial projects in Noida. The order consists of 44 elevators including high-speed elevators with a rated speed of 180 or 150 m/min, 12 escalators and a destination floor reservation system that efficiently allocates elevator cars. The elevators have an earthquake emergency operation system that detects an earthquake and stops the elevator quickly on the closest floor.  (October 28, 2024)

Schneider Electric has formed a strategic partnership with Noida International Airport to introduce building and energy management solutions. KEC International Ltd has reported the winning of orders worth Rs.1,142 crore across its power T&D, railways and cables businesses. The power T&D orders relate to building a 380kV transmission line in Saudi Arabia as well as supply of towers and hardware in Americas. These orders have taken the company’s cumulative order inflow in FY25 far to around Rs.13,500 crore, nearly 50 per cent higher than the comparable level in FY24. (October 24, 2024)

 

Orb Energy has installed an 800-kW rooftop solar system at Esteem Industries Pvt Ltd in Alonde, Wada, Maharashtra. This installation is set to generate over 10 lakh units of electricity and reduce approximately 1,000 tonnes of carbon emissions, annually.  The project is expected to generate approximately 3,100 kwh of solar energy daily, covering around 80 per cent of Esteem Industries’ daytime electricity requirements. The company is projected to recover its investment in solar energy within 2 years and 3 months, highlighting both economic and environmental advantages, a release by Orb Energy said. Jyoti Structures Ltd, in a stock exchange notification, said that it has received an order valued at Rs.450.01 crore (excluding GST) from Adani Energy Solutions Ltd for  survey, soil investigation, supply of towers, foundations, erection, stringing and commissioning of LILO of 765kV double-circuit Bhuj II-Lakadia transmission line at Navinal, Gujarat on turnkey basis. The board of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), in its meeting on October 22, 2024, approved the raising of unsecured, non-convertible, non-cumulative, redeemable, taxable, POWERGRID Bonds – LXXIX (79th) worth up to Rs. 5,000 crore, on private placement basis. The basic bond issue size will be Rs.1,000 crore with a greenshoe option of Rs.4,000 crore, PGCIL said in a regulatory filing. (October 22, 2024)

 

Aarsh Transformers Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Viviana Power Tech Ltd, has commissioned a distribution transformer manufacturing facility at Por-Varodara in Gujarat. The initial capacity will be 7,000 units per year, up to rating of 1 MVA. Plans are underway to enhance the rating up to 7 MVA, and production capcicty to 15,000 units per year. Type-testing for distribution transformer of rating 25 kVA, 63 kVA and 100 kVA has already been completed. The company is also in the development stage for manufacturing dry-type transformers, Viviana Power Tech said in a stock exchange notification. (October 21, 2024)

The ANEEL™ fuel is made of thorium and enriched uranium developed for use in pressurised heavy water reactors (PHWR) and Canada Deuterium Uranium (CANDU) Reactors and Advanced Nuclear Reactors. Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd (DIPL) has received an order worth Rs.99.95 crore from Reverence Infrastructure India LLP for the supply of 11kV 240 sqmm XLPE Al 3-core cables to be deployed in a project under the Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). Kay Cee Energy & Infra Ltd, in a stock exchange communication, said that it has received an order valued at Rs.55.78 crore, including GST, from Rajasthan Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd. The curtain raiser for the Seventh Session of the International Solar Alliance (ISA) Assembly was hosted on October 17, 2024, in New Delhi. Representatives from 60 countries participated in the event. Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), in its order dated October 15, 2024, has granted transmission licence to Powergrid Bidar Transmission Ltd (formerly Bidar Transmission Ltd and a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd) with regard to its ISTS scheme called “Transmission scheme for solar energy zone in Bidar (2,500 MW), Karnataka.” PGCIL won the project under the TBCB mode quoting a tariff of Rs.2368.09 million per year, and getting the better of two other contenders – Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd and Sterlite Power. PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Power Finance Corporation Ltd, entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) on October 14, 2024. Under this MoU, PFCCL and CEA will pool their expertise in areas including generation, transmission, and distribution projects. The MoU was signed by Manoj Rana, CEO of PFCCL, and Rakesh Kumar, Secretary, CEA, in the presence of senior officials of PFCCL and CEA. (October 15, 2024)

 

Saatvik Green Energy Ltd has announced that it has won a contract with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd (Mahagenco) to supply 200 MW of its cutting-edge N-TOPCon 580Wp modules to various locations across Maharashtra. The total value of the order is estimated to be Rs.302 crore.  Saatvik N-TOPCon 580Wp modules, which will be used to fulfil this contract, are among the most advanced and in-demand products in Saatvik’s portfolio, a release by Saatvik said. Gensol Engineering Ltd has been awarded a contract by UAE’s leading sustainable development and clean energy development company for the design, construction, and long-term O&M of rooftop solar photovoltaic systems for the engineering facilities of a leading aviation company in Dubai.  The contract, valued at AED 81.6 million (Rs.186 crore) plus taxes, is set to be executed over a 20-month period. With a total installed capacity of around 23 MWp, the turnkey project will involve the design, procurement of materials, construction, testing, commissioning, and long-term operation and maintenance of the rooftop solar PV systems. Schneider Electric announced that its EcoStruxure IT Network Management Card 3 (NMC3) platform has obtained a new and higher level of cybersecurity certification, making it the first Data Center Infrastructure Management (DCIM) network card to achieve IEC 62443-4-2 Security Level 2 (SL2) designation from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC). TÜV Rheinland, one of the world’s largest and leading testing providers, has independently certified the NMC3 platform, ensuring vendor products designed for data center and distributed IT environments meet a set of well-defined security requirements and undergo thorough testing and assessment, a release form Schneider Electric said. Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd has won an order valued at Rs.109.39 crore from Swastika Infra Pvt Ltd, a contractor of Gujarat state distribution utility Madhya Gujarat Vij Company Ltd (MGVCL). The order is for the supply of 11kV 240 sqmm XLPE Al 3-core cables to be deployed for a project of MGVCL. The order is scheduled for completion by March 2025. (October 9, 2024)

 

A consortium led by RMC Switchgears Ltd has won three separate EPC contracts (including 3-year O&M) for solarization of agricultural feeders in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra. The contracts, together worth Rs.201 crore, were won in a competitive bidding process including e-reverse auction. RMC Switchgears is actively pursuing additional tenders exceeding 500 MWp, RMC Switchgears added in a release.  (October 9, 2024)

 

Saatvik Solar has inked an agreement with Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to supply a 213-MW order for solar PV modules. This order is designated for L&T Energy’s 245-MW Bihar Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. Of this, 185 MW will power a solar PV grid-connected power plant, while 45.4 MW will support a 4-hour battery storage system in Kajra district. Saatvik Solar will deliver its advanced Mono PERC bifacial modules of 545 Wp, featuring glass-to-back sheet technology. The delivery is scheduled for completion by March 2025. (October 9, 2025)

 

Gensol Engineering Ltd announced that its solar EPC order book, as of September 30, 2024, stood at Rs.4,097 crore, representing 1.5 GW. This includes solar projects to be executed within a timeline of 12 to 18 months. Besides, the company foresaw a revenue stream of Rs.4,958 crore over a period of 12-25 years arising from BESS projects and solar generation projects under the BOO model, as of given date. Husk Power Systems and Abuja Electricity Distribution Plc (AEDC), together with Duduguru community in Nasarawa State of Nigeria, signed a partnership agreement to serve peri-urban commercial and residential customers with interconnected minigrids (IMG). The solar-powered minigrid in Duduguru, located in Obi Local Government Area (LGA), has a planned average daily energy supply of 656 kW, which will serve about 1,000 customers – 80 per cent households.  Husk already has more than 40 isolated minigrids operational in Nigeria. IMGs involve a three-way partnership between minigrid developers, distribution companies like AEDC, and the community where the IMGs are located. (October 4, 2024)

 

Grew Energy Pvt Ltd has partnered with Aditya Green Energy Pvt Ltd for the supply of over 180 MW of PV solar modules. The order supports the Government of India’s PM KUSUM C (MSKVY 2.0) Yojana initiative aimed at promoting solar energy adoption in rural areas. The project will benefit the regions of Latur, Osmanabad, and Beed in Maharashtra. Goldi Solar announced that it plans to increase its module manufacturing capacity from the current 3 GW to 14 GW by mid FY26. Additionally, Goldi Solar plans to build its cell manufacturing capacity to 4 GW by FY27. The expansion will drive improvements across the company’s manufacturing processes, enhance production efficiency, and unlock new market opportunities in North, East and South India. Transformers & Rectifiers (India) Ltd, in a stock exchange filing said that it has secured orders worth Rs.565 crore for transformers and reactors in the range of 80 MVAr to 500 MVA and 420kV to 765kV, from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) declared its 400/220kV Tughlakabad GIS substation in New Delhi as a “Pink Substation” meaning that it will be operated and managed entirely by women executives. GE Power India Ltd (GEPIL), in a stock exchange filing, said that it has received an order from Nepal-based Blue Energy Ltd for design, engineering, procurement, supply of turbine, governing, generator, control and protection system up to project site, erection, testing and commissioning of GE Vernova-supplied equipment for 100-MW Super Trishuli hydropower project in Nepal. The order worth Rs.240.40 crore plus NPR (Nepalese Rupee) 34 crore is scheduled to commission in 42 months. The order will be accounted by GEPIL in accordance with the provisions of the business transfer agreement between GEPIL and GE Power Electronics (India) Ltd (now renamed as GE Vernova Hydro Power India Pvt Ltd) for the sale and transfer of the hydro business undertaking of GEPIL. The business was responsible for the supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of electrical services. India’s first super capacitor manufacturing centre of Kerala Electronics Ltd (Keltron) is scheduled for inauguration on October 1, 2024.  This advanced facility, located at the Keltron Components Complex, marks a significant advancement for Kerala. REC Ltd announced that it has successfully raised $500 million 5-year Green bonds issued off its $10-billion Global Medium Term Programme. The bond proceeds will be used to finance Eligible Green Projects, in accordance with REC’s Green Finance Framework as per Green Bond principles of Climate Bond Initiative, London and RBI’s ECB Guidelines, with a second-party opinion from Sustainable Fitch, a release by REC said. Powerica Ltd has selected to install 19 GE Vernova 2.7 MW -132 wind turbine generators (WTGs) at its 51.3-MW project at Devbhumi Dwarka, Gujarat. The project will be covered under the SECI XVI tranche. The project, which reflects India’s growing interest in bringing online more renewable energy, is expected to both benefit the local community and contribute to India’s renewable portfolio. Current plans expect the WTGs for the project, which was booked in the second quarter of 2024, to be supplied starting in November 2024, a release by GE Vernova said. (September 28, 2024)

 

Kolkata-headquartered Marsons Ltd has announced the receipt of a letter of intent from from NACOF OORJA to develop 150-MW (AC) grid-interactive ground-mounted solar PV power generation capacity coming from multiple PV plants across different locations in Rajasthan. The project is being executed for Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Ltd (RRECL) under the KUSUM scheme in order to provide daytime power to agricultural consumers. The total value of the order is around Rs.675 crore and it will be executed with technical support from Aditya Clean Systems (P) Ltd. SJVN Ltd has signed two MoUs with the Maharashtra government for development of pumped storage projects (PSP) and floating solar projects in Maharashtra. The first MoU was with Department of Water Resources for development of five PSPs with total capacity of 8100 MW, and the second was with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO) for a 505-MW floating solar project. The total estimated investment on these projects will be around Rs.48,000 crore and will generate around 8400 direct and indirect employment opportunities, SJVN said. (September 27, 2024)

 

Bondada Engineering Ltd has received an order valued at nearly Rs.468 crore from KPI Green Energy Ltd for supply of material and installation of a solar power plant of 130 MWp / 100 MW (AC). This domestic order is scheduled for completion in 12 months from receipt of the formal purchase order, Bondada said in a regulatory filing. (September 27, 2024)

 

Power Mech Projects Ltd has won a Rs.226.66-crore order (excluding GST) from Gujarat Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (GMDC) for operation, maintenance and repair of GMDC’s 250-MW Akrimota power plant in Gujarat. The three-year order, starting tentatively from December 16, 2024, covers all power plant equipment and transmission lineup to 220kV switchyard and other related works. (September 26, 2024)

 

Zetwerk Manufacturing has secured a substantial second order from NTPC for the manufacturing and supply of 1,515 MWp of ALMM-compliant, Made in India solar PV modules, including mandatory spares, for the 1,200-MW Khavda solar project in Gujarat. Senvion India has announce a new order (conditional) from Continuum Green Energy for 50 of its recently launched 4.2M160 wind turbine generators (WTGs), totaling 210 MW. The project is scheduled for deployment in Gujarat or Karnataka, with deliveries beginning in April 2026. In addition to the initial 50 WTGs, the agreement allows for an increase in the order (conditional) of up to 50 units, potentially expanding the project’s footprint in Gujarat and other states, Senvion said in a release. Hartek Group has announced that it has crossed the 10-GW solar capacity milestone, standing for the aggregate solar capacity that the group is associated with through its various businesses including power systems, transmission & distribution (T&D) and solar EPC. The group has built substations up to 400kV for leading solar power producers and has even recently won a 765kV power system order, related to solar power-related transmission infrastructure. from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. Hartek Group, through its solar EPC business, is currently executing a 300-MW project valued at around Rs.500 crore, for a large independent power producer, apart from a 10-MW rooftop solar plant for a C&I customer, Hartek Group said in a release. NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Ltd, on September 25, 2024, entered into a joint venture agreement (JVA) with Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology Ltd. (MAHAPREIT). The proposed joint venture company will undertake development of 10 GW of renewable energy parks and projects in Maharashtra or in any other Indian state, a release by NTPC said. Power & Instrumentation (Gujarat) Ltd [PIGL] has been appointed by Airports Authority of India (AAI) as the specialized agency responsible for the power supply system of the new Integrated Passenger Terminal Building at Maharana Pratap Airport, Udaipur. This appointment is part of a broader contract awarded to Nyati Engineers & Consultants Pvt Ltd, the main contractor for the airport’s modernization project. Under the terms of the contract, PIGL will be responsible for designing, implementing, and commissioning the entire power supply system for the state-of-the-art terminal. This encompasses power distribution, installation of electrical substations, energy management systems, and ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory standards, PIGL said in a stock exchange notification. BluPine Energy has announced the successful commissioning of its 120-MW solar project in Gujarat. This project includes a 70-MW solar plant at Radhanpur and a 50-MW solar plant at Nenava, both located in the northern part of the state. The project achieved financial closure under the GUVNL-16 tender, with green financing secured through Standard Chartered Bank. The electricity generated will be supplied to Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) under a 25-year PPA. (September 25, 2024)

 

A single-user group captive solar power purchase agreement (PPA) has been formalized between Henkel India and CleanMax. Accordingly, Cleanmax will supply solar power to the Kurkumbh and Thane manufacturing sites of Henkel India, resulting in annual CO2 savings of over 4,500 tonnes. The captive power plant is being set up in a solar farm located in Maharashtra, to be owned and operated by CleanMax. (September 25, 2024)

 

Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy Ltd has announced that it has received two new domestic orders, aggregating around Rs.512 crore, from private IPPs. The company received an order for engineering, procurement and construction of a 200 MW AC / 250 MWp DC PV plant for a PV project in Gujarat. KEC International Ltd has reported the winning of orders valued at Rs.1,003 crore across its various businesses like railways, civil and cables. This has taken the company’s cumulative order inflow in FY25 so far to Rs.12,300 crore that was 60 per cent higher than the comparable level in FY24. The board of NTPC, in its meeting held on September 19, 2024, accorded investment approval for Darlipali super thermal power project Stage – II (1×800 MW) in Odisha, at an appraised current estimated cost of Rs.11,130.98 crore. The board also gave investment approval for Sipat super thermal power project Stage – III (1×800 MW) in Chhattisgarh, at an estimated outlay of Rs.9,790.87 crore. (September 20, 2024)

 

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), on September 19, 2024, received the letter of intent as successful bidder from bid process coordinator PFC Consulting Ltd for an ISTS-TBCB scheme housed under “South Olpad Transmission Ltd,” to be developed on BOOT basis. This scheme is officially termed as “Transmission system for evacuation of power from potential renewable energy zone in Khavda area of Gujarat under Phase-IV (7GW): Part B” and involves setting up of a new 765kV GIS substation near South of Olpad in Gujarat, among other transmission elements. The Electricals & Electronics business of Godrej & Boyce announced the commissioning of a 25-MW AC ground-mounted solar project in Dhule, Maharashtra for the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd (Mahagenco). This expansive installation, spanning over 52 ha, is set to generate 45 million kwh annually. Husk Power Systems, on September 19, 2024, announced that it had surpassed 1,000 direct employees across India and Africa, doubling its workforce since closing a $103 million Series-D financing in October 2023. Besides hiring 100 per cent local staff in its markets of operation, Husk has also put a strong focus on gender equity, local job creation in rural communities and training the next generation of minigrid industry leaders. Husk has grown its workforce 10 times since 2018. It is currently adding 50 new jobs per month, with that number expected to grow to 60 in Q4 2024, and expects to build a rural green job workforce of 2,500 by the end of 2025. RMC Switchgears Ltd has been awarded a contract by the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL) for the development of a 41 MW (AC) solar photovoltaic power project in RESCO model. The project will be executed under the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0, a scheme launched for the solarization of agricultural feeders under PM-KUSUM Scheme. This contract was awarded through a competitive bidding process and an e-reverse auction. Power generated from this project will be purchased by MSEDCL at a fixed tariff, as approved by Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC), for a period of 25 years from the scheduled commercial operation date. The project will be implemented across various sites in Maharashtra, as specified by MSEDCL. (September 18, 2024)

 

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of Tata Power Company Ltd, has secured a Letter of Award (LoA) from the Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL), for the development of a 400-MW wind-solar hybrid project in Maharashtra. The LoA includes an original contracted capacity of 200 MW, along with a greenshoe option for an additional contracted capacity of 200 MW, making this the largest renewable energy project in state of Maharashtra till date for TPREL, a release by Tata Power said, adding that TPREL’s total renewable energy capacity now stands at 10.5 GW with 5.7 GW of projects in various stages of implementation. Its operational capacity has reached 4.8 GW, comprising 3.8 GW of solar and 1 GW of wind energy projects. (September 18, 2024)

 

Inox Wind Ltd (IWL) has received a letter of intent (LoI) from IGREL Renewables Ltd for execution of 550 MW wind capacity on turnkey basis. As part of the project, Inox Wind will supply, install and commission wind turbine generators (WTGs), and provide multi-year comprehensive O&M services post commissioning. The project will be executed over the next 24 months across multiple sites in Gujarat, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh. Jakson Group, a genset original equipment manufacturer (OEM) for Cummins India Ltd has introduced the next-generation CPCB IV+ compliant gensets, powered by Cummins, in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh. Cummins launched CPCBIV+ compliant genset engines for India market in July last year. Designed to operate under extreme conditions, the CPCBIV+ gensets is equipped with innovations like a next-generation remote monitoring system, an advanced engine control module, and precise fuel-level sensors, a Jakson Group release said. A joint venture agreement was signed on September 17, 2024, between NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) and state power generation utility Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RVUNL).  The proposed JV company will undertake development of 25 GW of renewable energy projects and 1 million tonnes per year of green hydrogen or its derivatives, in Rajasthan. JSW Neo Energy and Reliance Power have won Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) auction to set up 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage system (BESS) under the tariff-based global bidding process. Both the companies have won 500 MW/1,000 MWh, with JSW Neo Energy quoting a tariff of Rs.3,81,000 per MW per month and Reliance Power quoting Rs.3,81,999 per MW per month. Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), in its order dated September 10, 2024, has granted interstate transmission licence to “NERES XVI Power Transmission Ltd,” a wholly-owned subsidiary of Techno Electric & Engineering Company Ltd. The said subsidiary is developing an interstate transmission system (ISTS) scheme termed as “Transmission Scheme for North-Eastern Region Expansion Scheme-XVI (NERES-XVI),” which it had won under the TBCB mode. Kalpataru Projects International Ltd (KPIL), along with its international subsidiaries, has received orders worth Rs.2,774 crore, the company said in a release. These orders, which include overseas power T&D mandates, has taken the company’s cumulative order intake in FY25 so far (till around September 12, 2024) to around Rs.9,800 crore, KPIL said. BCPL Railway Infrastructure Ltd has received an order from Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd, relating to work of “design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning for upgradation of electric traction system from 1 x 25kV to 2 x 25kV traction system for Kharagpur (excluding) – Bhadrak (excluding) section of Kharagpur Division of South Eastern Railway to meet 3,000 MT Loading target”. ITI Ltd has received an order worth around Rs.300 crore from Bihar Renewable Energy Development Authority (BREDA) for supply and installation of 1,00,000 numbers of solar street light systems to Bihar state government. The order, which will be fulfilled from ITI’s Naini plant in Uttarakhand, will cover solar streetlight systems like solar PV module, solar batteries, LED luminaries, mounting structures, and balance of system. BREDA will be deploying these streetlight systems across various districts like are Gopalgunj, Siwan, Samastipur, Purnia, Araria, Gaya, Darbhanga, Patna, Katihar and Khagaria. Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency Ltd (IREDA) has signed an MoU with SJVN Ltd, GMR Energy Ltd, and their associated companies for the development and implementation of the 900-MW Upper Karnali hydropower project in Nepal. This collaboration aims to enhance regional energy security through the development of renewable energy infrastructure. Oriana Power Ltd announced that its subsidiary, TrueRE Surya Pvt Ltd, has been awarded a contract by Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd for building and operate a ground-mounted solar power plant in Tamil Nadu with a capacity of up to 128 MW under the Open Access Captive solar power plant segment. The plant’s cost of construction is tentatively pegged at Rs.520 crore and it is expected to be commissioned within 12 months. Once completed, it will generate 1,920 lakh electricity units per year. NTPC has signed an MoU with USAID through its India Mission in Delhi to develop a roadmap for transforming NTPC townships and offices as net zero establishments. NTPC, according to a release, was the first energy company across the world to declare its Energy Compact Goals as a part of the UN High Level Dialogue on Energy. As a next step forward, NTPC has decided to make its townships and offices net zero in Scope 2 emissions by FY26. Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd (WRTL), a subsidiary of Waaree Energies Ltd, has received a domestic order valued at Rs.8.58 crore (excluding taxes) from a project management consultant to build a 3.40-MW (DC)/2.77-MW (AC) ground-mounted solar power plant on turnkey basis. Gensol Engineering Ltd, in collaboration with Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd, announced that it has emerged as the lowest bidder for EPC for developing India’s first bio-hydrogen project that will convert 25 tonnes of bio-waste into 1 tonne of hydrogen per day, using pre-gasification plasma induced radiant energy-based gasification system (GH2-PREGS) technology. The project valued at Rs.164 crore is scheduled for completion within 18 months. Gensol has strategically partnered with US-based Westinghouse that has patented technology and has commissioned such plants globally, Gensol said in a release. (September 3, 2024)

 

Adani Green Energy Ltd and TotalEnergies, have announced a strategic joint venture (JV), equally owned by both entities, aimed at managing a portfolio of solar projects totaling 1,150 MW. The projects are located at the world’s largest renewable energy plant in Khavda, Gujarat. AGEL will contribute its current assets to the new JV, while TotalEnergies plans to inject $444 million to accelerate the development of these projects, a statement by AGEL said. Solartive Techno Industries has won a Rs.48.8-crore contract (inclusive of GST) from Jharkhand Renewable Energy Development Agency (JREDA). The letter of award issued by JREDA provides rights to Solartive to design, manufacture, supply, transport, install, test and commission solar water pumping systems (SWPS) on a turnkey basis for irrigation purposes at different districts in Jharkhand under Component-B of PM-KUSUM Scheme, Phase III, a release by Solartive said. The Central government, on August 30, 2024, conferred “Navratna” status to two Central PSUs in the power ministry – NHPC Ltd and SJVN Ltd. This status will empower the two entities with faster decision-making, increased efficiency, and greater empowerment. This status supports major capital expenditure decisions and investment plans. NHPC and SJVNL will also have autonomy to establish overseas JVs, access new markets and leverage local expertise. Currently, NHPC and SJVNL have total installed capacity of 7,144 MW and 2,467 MW, respectively. Their under-construction capacities are 10,443 MW and 4,836 MW, respectively. (September 2, 2024)

 

PFC Consulting Ltd, on August 30, 2024, transferred its wholly-owned subsidiary “Bhadla-III & Bikaner-III Transmission Ltd” to Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL). The said subsidiary was incorporated on February 6, 2024, as a project SPV to develop an ISTS scheme called “Transmission system strengthening for interconnections of Bhadla-III and Bikaner-III Complex” and PGCIL was declared as successful bidder in the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) process conducted by PFCCL as the bid process coordinator. Alfa Transformers has received an order from TP Northern Odisha Distribution Ltd, a Tata Power group entity, for design, manufacture and supply of 250 kVA transformers, valued at Rs.1.77 crore. Sharika Enterprises Ltd has won an order valued at Rs.7.53 crore from Himachal Pradesh State Electricity Board (HPSEB) for design, engineering, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of 22kV gas insulated switchgear (GIS) and 22/6.6kV power transformers of 1×10 MVA and 2×6.3 MVA capacity for supply of power to a lift water supply scheme in Shimla Town. Best Power Equipments (BPE) announced the opening of its new 20,000-sqft factory in Greater Noida. The state-of-the-art facility is now operational, featuring advanced automated systems for lithium-ion battery manufacturing, BESS manufacturing on a large scale. The new factory is part of BPE’s strategic expansion plan and is equipped with high-tech equipment, including automated battery testing and sorting machines, a company release said. Socomec’s testing laboratory LBI (LAB INDIA) has been accredited by the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL) in line with the ISO/IEC 17025:2017 standard, which outlines the general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories. Consequently, reports and certificates issued by this laboratory at the Gurgaon manufacturing facility are now authorized to display the ILAC MRA (International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation Mutual Recognition Arrangement) mark, a release by Socomec said. Senvion India has announced a new order of 86.4 MW from Continuum Green Energy in Gujarat. With this order, Senvion will be delivering a total of 270 MW across five projects to Continuum. The deliveries are scheduled to begin in October 2024 and are expected to achieve grid commissioning by March 2025. The project entails delivering Senvion’s advanced 2.7M130 platform, which will be installed at a hub height of 140m. The project includes a 20-year O&M contract, Senvion India said in a release. The power T&D business of KEC International Ltd has won new orders worth Rs.1171 crore in the Middle East, including a 400kV transmission line in UAE and a 380kV line in Saudi Arabia. These orders have taken KEC’s cumulative order inflows in FY25 (up to August 28, 2024) to over Rs.10,000 crore, KEC said in a release. (August 29, 2024)

 

Jyoti Structures Ltd, in a stock exchange filing, said that it has received an order worth Rs.105.57 crore (inclusive of GST) from private developer for supply of transmission towers for a 765kV double-circuit transmission line project. The order is scheduled for completion in ten months, the filing said, without giving any further details. (August 28, 2024)

 

CESC Ltd announced that a new entity called “Brightfuture Power Pvt Ltd” was incorporated on August 27, 2024, as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Purvah Green Power Pvt Ltd, in turn a subsidiary of CESC Ltd. Otis India has announced an expansion in capacity and capabilities of its Bengaluru manufacturing facility, which was established in 1996. The expansion will provide additional capacity to meet growing residential, commercial & infrastructure demand for elevators and escalators in India and expand coverage into more cities in the country.  A previous expansion in 2012 doubled the plant capacity, and the current expansion will further increase its overall capacity by about 20 per cent, Otis India said in a release. Sterling and Wilson Pvt Ltd announced the handover of the greenfield data center for Raxio Group in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  Raxio Group is Africa’s leading carrier-neutral Tier-III certified data centre operator. Sterling and Wilson’s scope included complete turnkey civil and MEP for the facility along with Tier-III Uptime TCDD and TCCF certification. The project also included Indirect Adiabatic Cooling (IAC) free cooling solution for better PUE. The company was able to execute and deliver the project before the scheduled deadline of 16 months. ZF Wind Power announced that its Coimbatore plant in India has crossed the milestone of cumulatively producing wind turbine gearboxes with aggregate capacity 50 GW. The ZF Wind Power plant at Coimbatore is the largest plant for wind gearbox production in the world, excluding China, the company said, adding that the 50-GW milestone is a testament to ZF’s early entry and sustained commitment to the Indian wind market. Bondada Engineering Ltd has received an order valued at Rs.575.75 crore (inclusive of GST) for design, survey, supply, installation, testing, commissioning of grid-connected distributed solar power plants for solarization of select agri feeders at substation level in state discom MSEDCL’s jurisdiction, its associated 11kV line to connect the plant with the substation concerned and remote monitoring system (RMS) of solar power plants, under Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana 2.0 of PM-KUSUM Solar projects across various districts in Maharashtra. The order aggregating 170.40 MWp (DC) was placed by special purpose vehicles promoted by Paradigm IT Technologies Pvt Ltd and Metalcraft Forming Industries Pvt Ltd, Bondada Engineering said in a stock exchange filing. Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL) has released a “Safety Manual” that has been developed as per   I.E. Rules-1956, Indian Electric City Act-2003, CEA safety-related guidelines under Regulations-2010 and MPPTCL’s Grid Code It has been prepared keeping in mind the safety of maintenance personnel associated with MPPTCL’s network of more than 41,000 ckm of transmission lines and 416 EHV substations, a release from MPPTCL said. KEC International Ltd announced the winning of new orders worth Rs.1,079 crore in its power T&D and cables businesses. The T&D orders were received from Middle East and Americas, and India. JSW Renew Energy Twenty Ltd, a wholly-owned step-down subsidiary of JSW Energy Ltd has signed a power purchase agreement with Bangalore Electricity Supply Company Ltd for solar capacity of 300 MW awarded by Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd. The PPA is signed for supply of power until FY2044 with a tariff of Rs.2.89 per kWh. The aforesaid project is located in Pavagada Solar Park, Karnataka and is expected to be commissioned in next 18 months. In another independent development, JSW Neo Energy Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Ltd has received letter of award for setting up 300 MW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power project from NTPC Ltd against tariff-based competitive bid invited under “1,000 MW ISTS-connected Wind-Solar Hybrid Power Projects (NTPC-Tranche-VI).” (August 23, 2024)

Gensol Engineering Ltd has received the letter of award (LOA) for execution of 16 MWp turnkey EPC rooftop solar project worth Rs.40 crore under commercial and industrial (C&I) segment from a leading textile company. This is a repeat order for Gensol, which will be installed in Madhya Pradesh and Gensol will commission the project in six months. RMC Green Energy Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of RMC Switchgears Ltd, has secured approval from the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation to establish a 50-MW renewable energy park in Rajasthan under the Rajasthan Renewable Energy Policy 2023. This milestone further cements the parent company’s entry into the solar park business, operating as a renewable IPP (Independent Power Producer). RMC is actively pursuing additional tenders exceeding 600 MWp and is engaging with both public and private sector entities to achieve the ambitious goal of securing 1 GWp in EPC contracts over the next 18 months, RMC Switchgears said in a release. GE Grid Alliance B.V. (formerly Alstom Grid Holding B.V) and Grid Equipments Private Limited, being the Promoter Group of GE T&D India Ltd, said that they are in the process of reviewing their shareholding structure of the company, so as to simplify its holding structure and, in this regard, will evaluate and assess their current shareholding in the company including evaluating the possibility of a minority stake sale by them in GE T&D India. However, the Promoter Group expresses its strong intention to continue as the majority shareholder block of GE T&D India. Power & Instrumentation (Gujarat) Ltd [PIGL] has received orders aggregating Rs.28.42 crore from Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd (JBVNL) under Jharkhand’s “Mukhyamantri Ujjawal Jharkhand Yojana (MUJY). These mandates relate to household electrification and other works to be carried out in Shahibganj district of the state, and will be executed in joint venture with Maa Infratech Pvt Ltd, PIGL said in a stock exchange communication. It may be mentioned that in May this year, PIGL was awarded a Rs.20.93-crore contract by Adani Group-backed Ahmedabad International Airport Ltd to build a substation at the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport at Ahmedabad. Diamond Power Infrastructure Ltd, in a stock exchange notification, said that it has received an order from L&T Construction, the construction arm of Larsen & Toubro Ltd, for the supply of AL-59  Zebra conductors, which are new-generation aluminium alloy conductors. Gensol Engineering Ltd, in collaboration with Matrix Gas & Renewables Ltd, announced that it has emerged as a winning bidder for 237 MW annual capacity under Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for setting up electrolyser manufacturing plant. This bid was secured through a competitive tender by Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI).  The Gensol-Matrix consortium has secured a cumulative 300 MW capacity, including a prior 63 MW awarded in the first tranche of the SECI tender that equates to Rs.450 crore cumulative incentive under the PLI scheme. Inox Wind Ltd (IWL), in a release, said that it has bagged an order for 51 MW from  Everrenew Energy Private Ltd, a leading C&I player. This is an equipment supply order for IWL’s latest 3-MW wind turbine generators. Additionally, Inox Wind will provide post commissioning multi-year operations and O&M services. Envision Wind Power Technologies India Pvt Ltd has signed a turbine supply agreement for the EN-156 3.3 MW turbines, aggregating around 116 MW, with Blueleaf Energy, a leading pan-Asian renewable energy platform owned by a fund managed by Macquarie Asset Management. Blueleaf Energy will commence construction on a co-located wind-solar hybrid power project in Madhya Pradesh in 2024, with completion scheduled for 2025, a release from Envision said. The board of directors of Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), in a meeting on August 8, 2024, approved the appointment of Naveen Srivastava as Director (Operations), PGCIL. This appointment is effective from August 8, 2024 till the date of his superannuation, November 30, 2026, or till further orders, whichever is earlier. Srivastava has been associated with PGCIL since 1991 and has worked in many positions with the company. Srivastava has more than 35 years of work experience in power sector handling various multi-disciplinary functions like planning, construction, monitoring of transmission systems, SCADA, commercial, business development and O&M of EHV transmission system. The Commission consists of a Chairperson and three other Members. Additionally, Chairperson, Central Electricity Authority, is the ex-officio Member of the Commission. Harish Dudani held the post of Principal Judge, Family Court, in High Court of Delhi. Tata Power has entered into a strategic partnership with Druk Green Power Corporation Ltd (DGPC) of Bhutan for development of the 600-MW Khorlochhu hydropower project, located in Trashiyangtse Dzongkhag (District) in Eastern Bhutan on the Kholongchhu River.  The partnership involves 40 per cent equity investment by Tata Power in the public private partnership company, Khorlochhu Hydro Power Ltd. The estimated project cost is Rs.6,900 crore with a construction timeline of five years. All the statutory approvals are in place for construction work to start immediately. (August 7, 2024)

 

Servotech Power Systems Ltd has secured a total of 1.2 MW order worth approximately Rs.10.20 crore for the deployment of solar energy storage and grid-connected systems. The order has been secured from the Rural Development Department of Uttar Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh New & Renewable Energy Development Agency (UPNEDA).  Servotech will be responsible for installing multiple 75kW solar-based energy storage systems, as well as for designing, manufacturing, supplying, erecting, testing and commissioning 20 kW and 40 kW grid-connected solar power systems, across Uttar Pradesh. Inox Wind Ltd has bagged an order for 201 MW from Integrum Energy Infrastructure Ltd, a leading C&I player. This is an equipment supply order for IWL’s latest 3-MW wind turbine generators (WTGs). Additionally, Inox Wind will provide post commissioning multi-year operations & maintenance (O&M) services. The IITM Research Park, on August 5, 2024 launched the first-of-its-kind large-scale 1MWh lithium-ion battery storage system in the presence of Michelle Lujan Grisham, Governor of New Mexico on August 5, 2024. This technology, indigenously designed and developed by the Center for Excellence in Energy & Telecommunications (CEET) is a part of IITM Research Park’s 10x initiative, ‘Towards 100% Renewable Energy’. ANDRITZ announced that it has won an order from RVR Projects Pvt Ltd to supply generating units for the new Boras hydropower project in India. ANDRITZ will also oversee comprehensive technical services including supervision, installation, and commissioning of these The Boras project forms an integral part of the Chinki Boras barrage combined multipurpose project, undertaken by the Narmada Valley Development Authority (NVDA) under the Government of Madhya Pradesh, through an EPC contract. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), in a stock exchange filing, said that it received the letter of intent as successful bidder for an ISTS-TBCB scheme ““Transmission system strengthening for interconnections of Bhadla-III & Bikaner-III Complex,” on August 1, 2024. The project comprises 765kV double-circuit transmission line interconnecting Bhadla-III and Bikaner-III substations and associated bays extension works at these substations in Rajasthan. Khavda II-D Transmission was incorporated as a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), in turn a wholly-owned subsidiary of REC Ltd, for development of an ISTS-TBCB scheme “Transmission system for 4.5 GW RE injection at Khavda PS Under Phase II, Part D.” This scheme now stands de-notified by the Union power ministry leading to the project special purpose vehicle “Khavda II-D Transmission Ltd” becoming defunct. JSW Neo Energy Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Ltd has received a letter of intent (or “LoI”) from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd for setting up 192 MW grid-connected hybrid power project, including an additional 96 MW under the green shoe option.  The capacity is awarded against tariff based competitive bid invited for setting up of 500 MW grid-connected hybrid power projects (Phase II) along with a green shoe option for additional capacity up to 500 MW, JSW Energy said in a release. Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has formally announced that it has won the letter of intent from Damodar Valley Corporation (DVC) for EPC package for the 2×800-MW Koderma Thermal Power Station (Phase-II) project at Koderma district, Jharkhand. The order valued at over Rs.10,000 crore (excluding taxes) involves (i) Supply of equipment – boiler, turbine, generator and associated auxiliaries along with electrical and C&I, balance of plant packages (ii) erection & commissioning and (iii) civil works. SJVN has received a letter of intent from Mizoram government for development of the 2,400-MW Darzo Lui pumped storage project, marking the company’s maiden project in the northeastern state. SJVN will develop the project costing around Rs.14,000 crore under the nomination route. The upper reservoir is proposed on a minor stream of Hnahchanglui Nallah in Koladyne Tuipui River near Village South Vanlaiphai of District Hnahthial. The lower reservoir is proposed in Darzo Nallah around 5.5 km upstream of the confluence with Tuipui river near Vertek village. (July 26, 2024)

 

KEC International has won Rs.1,422 crore worth of domestic and overseas orders related to power T&D, the company said in a release. While Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd has placed orders for 400kV and 765kV transmission lines, orders for substation structures were received from USA. Gensol Engineering Ltd has emerged as winning bidder for EPC works worth around Rs.600 crore for solar projects in Gujarat, distributed across 27 diverse locations in the distribution area of state discom Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd. Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd has signed an MoU with NHPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NHPC-REL) to spearhead the installation of rooftop solar projects across government buildings of Central Ministries, States, and Union Territories. This initiative, under the ambitious PM Surya Ghar Yojna Scheme, aims for 100 per cent  solarisation of government-owned buildings by December 2025. It may be noted that the Union Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has appointed NHPC Ltd as a Scheme Implementing Partner (SIP) to drive rooftop solar projects, which will be carried out by its wholly-owned subsidiary, NHPC-REL. Advait Infratech Ltd has received an order valued at Rs.35.07 crore (excluding GST) from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for design, engineering, supply, testing, service and commissioning of OPGW cable at Ladakh. Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd (WRTL) announced its selection by ISMT Ltd, a Kirloskar group company, for the comprehensive turnkey EPC works for a 22 MW AC / 30 MWp DC ground-mounted solar project. This project will be located in Village Helas, Taluka Mantha, District Jalna, Maharashtra.  The project includes supplying bifacial solar modules, acquiring land, and overseeing the full construction and commissioning of the solar plant. The project also involves installing evacuation infrastructure at plant and substation levels, establishing the required transmission line, and securing all statutory approvals for seamless operations. Hartek Group has announced the winning of 765kV substation orders from Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. These substations – coming up at Indore (Madhya Pradesh) and Kurnool (Andhra Pradesh) – will be commissioned in the stipulated timeframe of 14-20 months, a release by Hartek said. Besides, Hartek Group also recently won a Rs.474-crore EPC order from a renewable energy IPP, the release said, without providing further details. (July 16, 2024)

 

TECNIMONT (Integrated E&C Solutions), through its Indian  subsidiary Tecnimont Pvt Ltd (TCMPL), together with NEXTCHEM (Sustainable Technology Solutions),has been awarded an Engineering Design Study (first phase of the Front-End Engineering Design contract by Sembcorp Green Hydrogen India Pvt Ltd for a green ammonia plant to be located in India. The study will leverage NEXTCHEM’s digital tool ArcHy (Architecture of Hydrogen systems), to overcome the challenge of the intermittency of renewable power usage, resulting in capex and opex efficiency of the plant lifecycle. Advait Infratech Ltd has reported the winning of two orders, both from KPI Green Energy Ltd, for an aggregate value of Rs.72.69 crore. The first order, valued at Rs.59 crore and to be completed in nine months, is for design, engineering, supply, testing, service and commissioning of a 30-MW ground-mounted solar power plant at Khavda in Gujarat. The second order relates to EPC works of a 1-MW green hydrogen plant at Matar, also in Gujarat. (July 10, 2024)

 

Godrej Electricals & Electronics, a business unit of Godrej & Boyce, announced the commissioning of 12.5-MWp rooftop solar project for a textile facility in Madhya Pradesh. This installation spans over 1 million sqft of large manufacturing sheds, making it one of the three largest rooftop installations in India and the largest in Madhya Pradesh, a company release said. Diamond Power Infrastructures Ltd (DIPL) has received an order valued at Rs.899.75 crore (including GST) for the supply of AL59 aluminium alloy conductors from Adani Energy Solutions Ltd (AESL). These conductors are to be deployed at various project SPVs of AESL that are implementing power transmission projects under the TBCB route. L&T Semiconductor Technologies Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Larsen & Toubro, has proposed to fully acquire Bengaluru-headquartered Siliconch Systems Pvt Ltd. The acquisition is expected to be completed by September 15, 2024. The acquisition is expected to add IP, engineering skillsets and design expertise to strengthen the L&T Group’s presence in fabless semiconductor business, and thus aligns with the overall growth strategy of LTSCT, L&T said in a stock exchange filing. Inox Wind Ltd has bagged an order for 200 MW from a renewable C&I power producer. The order is for IWL’s latest 3-MW wind turbine generators and the scope comprises of end-to-end turnkey execution. Additionally, Inox Wind will provide post commissioning multi-year O&M services. The project will be executed across the states of Gujarat and Rajasthan, Inox Wind said. (July 9, 2024)

Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd (WRTL), a subsidiary of Waaree Energies Ltd, has been awarded an EPC contract for ACCIONA Energy’s subsidiary Juna Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd’s 412.5 MWp/335 MW photovoltaic project located in Kawani village of Bikaner district, Rajasthan. As EPC contractor, WRTL will provide comprehensive services, including design engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning of the project. The scope includes the installation of a 33/220kV plant substation, power transformers, and a combination of automatic and semi-automatic module cleaning robots and spares. (July 8, 2024)

 

GE Power India Ltd (GEPIL) has won an order worth Rs.1.87 crore (exclusive of 18 per cent GST) from NTPC for supply of main turbine spares to NTPC’s Talcher power plant in Odisha. The order is scheduled for completion in 9.5 months GEPIL said in a stock exchange communication. (July 8, 2024)

 

The board of Indian Energy Exchange (IEX) has elevated Rohit Bajaj, currently Executive Director (non-board), IEX, to Joint Managing Director for a period of three years effective August 10, 2024. Also, Satyanayaran Goel, Chairman & Managing Director, IEX, will be attaining 70 years of age on August 10, 2024, and as such, will see his term as MD ending on August 9, 2024. Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has granted transmission licence to KPS1 Transmission Ltd for an augmentation project that it would be developing under the RTM route. The licence will remain in force for a period of 25 years, CERC ruled in a recent order. On June 19, 2024, T&D India had reported that KPS1 Transmission Ltd was seeking transmission licence for the RTM project under discussion. (July 5, 2024)

Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has directed Powergrid Koppal II Gadag II Transmission Ltd to file a public notice and submit objections/suggestions if any by July 16, 2024, in connection with grant of transmission licence. The matter will come up for next hearing on July 22, 2024. The said TSP is a wholly-owned subsidiary of PGCIL and has won an ISTS scheme “Transmission scheme for integration of Renewable Energy Zone (Phase-II) in Koppal-II (Phase-A & B) and Gadag-II (Phase- A) in Karnataka” that it won under the TBCB mode. Alfa Transformers Ltd has received a Rs.1.99-crore order from TP Northern Odisha Distribution Ltd for design, manufacture and supply of 100KVA transformers. Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd, in a stock exchange communication, said that it has emerged as L1 bidder in a tender issued by Central Railway for OHE modification work for up-gradation of existing 1 x 25kV electric traction system to 2x25kV AT feeding system in Wardha-Ballarshah Section in Nagpur division. Jakson Green has signed its first power purchase agreement (PPA), the company said in a release. The 25-year PPA was signed with Central PSU NHPC Ltd and was with respect to 400 MW of solar capacity that Jakson Green won at a tariff of Rs.2.53 per kwh, in a competitive bidding process conducted by NHPC last year. The project is scheduled for commissioning within 24 months of signing the PPA. (July 3, 2024)

 

BluPine Energy announced the completion of its skill development initiative aimed at upskilling the local youth of Gujarat in the utility-scale renewable energy sector. After a successful assessment by an external agency, 140 students were awarded certificates under the Skill India program of the National Skills Development Corporation of India. The development centres established by BluPine Energy as part of a social investment program in Gujarat trained students in the installation and operation of utility-scale renewable energy projects free of cost, a statement by BluPine Energy said. KEC International reported the winning of new orders worth Rs.1,017 crore, taking the company’s cumulative order inflow in FY25 to over Rs.5,000 crore. The new orders included an EPC project and supply of towers to the Middle East. Besides, the company’s renewable energy business won a balance-of-system package for a 625-MWp solar PV project in Rajasthan. This is KEC’s largest solar power-related order till date, the company said. (July 3, 2024)

 

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), in a stock exchange notification, said that it has initiated three new arbitration cases against state power utility Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Ltd (RUVNL) for releasing contract-related outstanding dues. The total amount in dispute is around Rs.107.50 crore and is with respect to contracts relating to the Chhabra, Kota and Suratgarh thermal power generation units of RUVNL. (July 2, 2024)

 

TD Power Systems Ltd has received an overseas order worth $9.28 million for gas turbine generators from a major US Original Equipment Manufacturer. These generators will be used primarily in fracking (hydraulic fracturing) wells in the US, for power supply and backup power for artificial intelligence server farms in the US, and other applications. Delivery of these generators is scheduled to commence from January 2025 to August 2025, the company said in a stock exchange communication. (July 2, 2024)

Waaree Energies Ltd has announced the receipt of a contract from Serentica Renewables India Pvt Ltd for a 900-MW module supply deal. The modules will be deployed in a project located in Fatehgarh, Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The delivery schedule for these Top-Con bifacial modules is set from August 2024 to February 2025. This deal involves the provision of the Waaree Elite Series N Type Topcon BiN-03-680 to 690Wp GTG Bifacial modules. (July 1, 2024)

 

The board of REC Ltd has approved the formation of two project special purpose vehicles, as wholly-owned subsidiaries of its wholly-owned subsidiary REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL). These two SPVs will be created to develop two ISTS schemes – “Transmission System for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part 4: 3.5 GW): Part A” and “Transmission System for evacuation of power from Rajasthan REZ Ph-IV (Part 4: 3.5 GW): Part B”. RECPDCL, as the bid process coordinator, will select developers under the TBCB mechanism, and then transfer these SPVs to the successful bidders. (June 29, 2024)

 

GE Power India Ltd (GEPIL) has won a Rs.6.07-crore order from NTPC Ltd for servicing of generator, to be completed in six months. GEPIL also reported the winning of a Rs.5.99-crore order from state utility Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd for supply of reheater rear pendent coils assembly for Unit 3 and Unit 4 of the Khaparkheda thermal power station. Surya Roshni Ltd, in a stock exchange communication, said that it has received an order worth Rs.53 crore (including GST) from Odisha Infrastructure Development Fund for implementation of LED-based public street lighting in 16 urban local bodies covering the Balasore, Jajpur, Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts of the state. JSW Neo Energy Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Ltd has received letter of award for setting up 300-MW ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power project from SJVN Ltd against tariff-based competitive bid invited for setting 1,500 MW of ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects. Subsequent to this, the JSW Neo’s total locked-in capacity increases to 13.9 GW. The company expects to have an installed generation capacity of 9.8 GW by CY24, up from 7.3 GW currently. The board of Sharika Enterprises has approved the acquisition of 60 per cent equity stake in 1988-incorporated company Contronics Switchgear India Pvt Ltd. NHPC has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) on June 27, 2024, for 200 MW capacity solar power project within GSECL’s RE Park at Khavda (GSECL Stage-3). The estimated financial implication for the project would be Rs.846.66 crore. The scheduled completion period for the project is 15 months from the date of execution of PPA. (June 28, 2024)

 

ENGIE has announced the signing of a power purchase agreement (PPA) for a 200-MW solar PV project. This project is part of Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd’s (GUVNL) larger project encompassing 1,125 MW grid-connected solar PV power projects, to be established within the Gujarat State Electricity Corporation’s Renewable Energy Park situated at Khavda, Gujarat. The bidding process by GUVNL took place on February 2, 2024, with ENGIE securing 200 MW at a competitive tariff of Rs.2.62 per unit. (June 28, 2024)

 

JSW Neo Energy Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of JSW Energy Ltd, has signed power purchase agreements through its subsidiaries for wind and solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 1,325 MW. This includes 1,025 MW with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and 300 MW with Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL), bringing the total locked-in capacity of the company to 13.6 GW. Powergrid Parli Transmission System Ltd (PPTL) has received separate transmission licence from Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) for implementation of a scheme under the regulated tariff mechanism (RTM) route. The Rs.18-crore project estimated to cost around Rs.18 crore involves setting up a 400kV line bay at the 765/400kV Parli (New) substation for interconnection of renewable energy project. The said substation was commissioned by PPTL in April 2018 under an independent ISTS-TBCB scheme. (June 26, 2024)

 

Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd has announced the winning of a Rs.4,122-crore contract from an unnamed entity to develop a floating solar power plant with aggregate installed capacity of 1,090 MWp (DC). Waaree Energies Ltd has been awarded a major contract by ACCIONA Energy’s subsidiary Juna Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd, to supply its bifacial solar modules for the 412.5 MWp/335 MW AC project in Rajasthan. The date of commissioning of the said project is in March 2025.  The project, located in Kawani village, Bikaner district, is a utility-scale solar plant that will deploy Waaree’s P-type bifacial modules with a capacity of 540-545 Wp each, Waaree Energies said in a release. Welspun Specialty Solutions Ltd, in a stock exchange notification, said that it has been notified as L1 bidder by Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), Trichy, for the supply of seamless stainless steel boilers tubes to be deployed at NTPC’s 2×660-MW Talcher supercritical thermal power project in Odisha. Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) has emerged L1 in a Rs.191.54-crore contract of South Eastern Railway. To be completed in 18 months the EPC contract involves design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning of 132kV traction substation, sectioning posts, sub-sectioning posts in 2x25kV system on Rajkharsawan Nayagarh-Bolani section of Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway, RVNL said in a stock exchange communication. Gensol Engineering Ltd has received the second tranche under greenshoe option allotment of 250 MW/500 MWh from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) for standalone battery energy storage systems (BESS) project to reach 500 MW / 1,000 MWh. The two project tranches will generate a total revenue of Rs.2,685 crore over the 12-year Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA) tenure. The project will supply electricity on an “On-Demand” basis to Gujarat state discoms during peak and off-peak hours. The project, once commissioned at two Gujarat Energy Transmission Corporation (GETCO) substations, will deliver 500 MW/1,000 MWh energy for two charge/discharge cycles per day. (June 20, 2024)

Vikram Solar has secured a 393.9 MWp module supply order for NLC India Ltd at GSECL’s Solar Park (Stage 2) in Khavda, Gujarat. This landmark order brings Vikram Solar’s total PV module supply contract to the Khavda Solar Park to over 1 GW, the company said in a release. This 393.9-MW order will be fulfilled with ALMM-listed 580Wp and n-Topcon bifacial modules, Vikram Solar said.  (June 18, 2024)

This marks a significant milestone for AM Green and is an acknowledgment of India’s green hydrogen and ammonia potential. AM Green will be the first company to achieve this milestone for projects based out of India. This pre-certification puts AM Green in a leading position to unlock the EU RFNBO market, a firm advantage as the company sets out to develop one of the world’s largest green ammonia facilities in Kakinada. By 2030, its production capacity will increase from one to 5 million tonnes per annum of green ammonia–equivalent to 1 million tonne per annum of hydrogen, a release from AM Green said. Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC), in recent orders, has granted transmission licence to Koppal-Narendra Transmission Ltd and Gadag Transmission Ltd for two ISTS schemes under the RTM route. Both these SPVs are subsidiaries of ReNew Transmission Ventures Pvt Ltd. The two RTM components, as described in T&D India’s news report of March 20, 2024, are associated with capacity augmentation at the Koppal and Gadag pooling stations, respectively. Gensol Engineering Ltd has emerged as a successful bidder a 250-mw (500 MWh) battery energy storage project worth Rs.1,340 crore, in a tender floated by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd.  The project will deliver 250 MW/500 MWh energy for two charge/discharge cycles per day. The project will supply electricity on an “On-Demand” basis to Gujarat state discoms during peak and off-peak hours, thereby extending renewable energy availability beyond solar hours, fulfilling Energy Storage Purchase Obligations, and enhancing grid resilience. Advait Infratech Ltd reported the winning of two orders from Gujarat Energy Transmission Co Ltd (GETCL) for uprating existing 66kV overhead lines with HTLS conductors, and supplying associated equipment. The orders, together valued at Rs.44.14 crore, involve uprating of 70.388 route km of conductors, and are scheduled for completion in six months. (June 14, 2024)

 

Hyderabad-based Bondada Engineering Ltd has been awarded a Rs.939.40-crore order by NLC India Ltd for balance of system (BoS) work related to NLC India’s upcoming 600-mw grid-connected solar power plant at Khavda in Gujarat. The board of directors of National High Power Test Laboratory Pvt Ltd (NHPTL) has approved the transfer of around 131.64 lakh equity shares held by NHPC Ltd in NHPTL to Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL). Consequent to this, the shareholding of NHPC in NHPTL will stand reduced to 12.5 per cent from 20 per cent. Accordingly, NHPTL will cease to be an associate company of NHPC Ltd. PGCIL is in the process of increasing its equity stake in NHPTL to 50 per cent, as earlier reported by T&D India(June 11, 2024)

 

Suzlon Group has announced a new order win for the development of a 103.95-MW wind power project for AMPIN Energy Transition Pvt Ltd. Suzlon will install 33 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 3.15 MW each at the client’s site in the Fatehgarh district in Rajasthan. This order is for the company’s larger rated 3.15 MW, S144‐140m turbines from the 3 MW product series. As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply the wind turbines (equipment supply) and execute the project, including erection and commissioning. Suzlon will also undertake comprehensive O&M services post‐commissioning, Suzlon said. (June 11, 2024)

 

Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL), in a stock exchange filing, said that it has commissioned a project under “Reliable Communications Scheme under Central Sector for Northern Region” with effect from April 1, 2024. The notification for commercial operation (DOCO) was received on June 10, 2024, the filing added without giving any more details. (June 11, 2024)

 

BluPine Energy has announced the signing of a PPA with APL Apollo Building Products for a 61.65-MW solar plant in Chhattisgarh. APL Apollo along with other off-takers will hold a 26 per cent stake under the group captive structure in the SPV of BluPine Energy for this project, taking BluPine’s C&I capacity to about 400 MW. KEC International has reported the winning of diversified orders worth Rs.1,061 crore. These orders have taken the company’s cumulative order inflows in FY25 till date, to over Rs.3,000 crore. The orders include power T&D mandates in India and in overseas markets like Malaysia and the Americas. The company’s railway business landed an order from Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation for setting up a metro rail-related power supply system, among others. The cables business secured a domestic order for supply of transmission conductor, alongside orders for supply of cables in India and abroad. (June 8, 2024)

Delton Cables, in a stock exchange communication, said that it has received orders from “Top EPC companies” for the supply of cables worth Rs.177.83 crore. Orb Energy has been designated as an approved vendor under State Bank of India’s Surya Shakti Solar Finance Scheme. Under this agreement, SBI will offer solar loans to Orb Energy’s residential, commercial and industrial customers for the installation of rooftop solar systems. For C&I customers, SBI will provide loans of up to Rs.10 crore, with minimum down payment of 20 per cent and extended tenures. For residential customers, SBI offers loans of up to Rs.10 lakh for the installation of solar systems, Orb Energy said in a release. (June 3, 2024)

 

Suzlon Group has announced a new order win for the development of an 81.9-MW wind energy project for Oyster Green Hybrid One Pvt Ltd. Suzlon will install 26 S144-140m wind turbine generators with rated capacity of 3.15 MW each in Agar, Madhya Pradesh. As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply the turbines and undertaken erection and commissioning. Suzlon will also undertake comprehensive O&M services post-commissioning. (May 31, 2024)

Lohithashan has over 19 years of experience in the electrical systems, UPS market, solar and energy storage systems. Suzlon Group has announced a new order win for the development of 551.25 MW wind power project for the Aditya Birla Group. Suzlon will install 175 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 3.15 mw each at sites in the Barmer district in Rajasthan and Bhuj district in Gujarat. This order is for the company’s larger rated 3.15 MW, S144‐140m turbines from the 3 MW product series. As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply the wind turbines and execute the project, including erection and commissioning, in Rajasthan, while Suzlon will supply, supervise, and commission the project in Gujarat. Madhav Infra Projects Ltd has announced the winning of a Rs.90.35-crore EPC contract from NTPC-SAIL Power Company Ltd (NSPCL) for design, engineering, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning and O&M of a 15-mw floating solar PV plant. To be completed in 12 months, the floating solar plant will be put up at Maroda Reservoir-I of NSPCL in Bhilai, Chhattisgarh, Madhav Infra Projects said in a stock exchange communication. Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has entered into a technology transfer agreement (TTA) with Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC) for 50kW alkaline electrolyser system for hydrogen production. The well proven technology offered by BARC is indigenously developed and have high local material content. BHEL through this collaboration with BARC intends to scale up indigenous alkaline electrolyser technology and commercialise it for application in sectors such as refineries, fertiliser, steel, transportation, etc, BHEL said in a statement. Recyclekaro has announced its registration on the government’s Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) portal for e-waste recycling. Recyclekaro joins Lohum Cleantech, Attero, and LICO Materials as one of the four registered lithium-ion battery recyclers. Based on its existing recycling capacity, Recyclekaro will help lithium-ion battery and electronics product manufacturers, producers, and importers in India meet their EPR targets. These targets include 4,200 MT for lithium-ion battery recycling and 15,000 MT for e-waste recycling, Recyclekaro said in a release. (May 27, 2024)

Waaree Energies Ltd, in a release, said that it will be supply 445 mw worth of solar modules to Statkraft India for deployment at the latter’s solar projects in Bikaner, Rajasthan. Suzlon will install a total of 134 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 3 mw for both projects at Fatehgarh in Rajasthan. As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply the wind turbines and execute the project, entailing foundation, erection, and commissioning. Salasar Techo Engineering Ltd, in a stock exchange communication, said that it has completed the acquisition of EMC Ltd, which was under liquidation, as a going concern. This acquisition has been executed in compliance with the terms and conditions outlined in the E-Auction Process Information Document issued by the Liquidator. A Sale Certificate has been issued by the Liquidator in favor of Salasar confirming completion of sale, the communication said. Vikram Solar has secured a 397.7-MWp module supply order for NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd. In a release, Vikram Solar said that its modules will power a significant portion of the massive 1,255-MW Khavda Solar Project in Gujarat. These bifacial DCR modules will have minimum capacity of 540 Wp and meet ALMM standards. (May 17, 2024)

 

Enfinity Global has signed $135 million in financing for the development and construction of 1.2 GW of solar and wind projects in India. The financing is being provided by Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPP Investments) through subsidiaries of CPPIB Credit Investments Inc.  The projects in this portfolio are spread across five states — Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh — and are in advanced stages of development and. These are expected to be commissioned between 2025 and 2026. Once interconnected, they are projected to generate 2.4 GWh of clean electricity annually. (May 16, 2024)

Amplus announced the successful commissioning of its 73.4 MWp Project Lakshmi, an intra-state open-access solar plant in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh, the company’s third OA plan in the northern state following Project Mirza and Project Deoria. This latest project has taken Amplus’s operational OA capacity in Uttar Pradesh to over 200 MWp. Interconnected at the 132kV Gursarai substation, Project Lakshmi will deliver substantial energy cost savings to Amplus’s clientele across the state, a release by Amplus said. (May 14, 2024)

Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has granted licence to Fatehgarh IV Transmission Ltd, a subsidiary of Apraava Energy, to develop a transmission project costing Rs.11.74 crore on regulated tariff mechanism (RTM) basis. This project, to be commissioned by February 1, 2025, involves development of one set of bus sectionalizer at 220kV level of 400/220kV Fatehgarh-IV Pooling Station (Section-1) in Rajasthan. Fatehgarh IV Transmission Ltd is already developing an ISTS-TBCB scheme officially termed as “Transmission system for evacuation of power from REZ in Rajasthan (20 GW) under Phase III-Part A1”. Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd (TPREL) has signed a power purchase agreement (PPA) with SJVN Ltd for a 460-mw Firm and Dispatchable Renewable Energy (FDRE) Project. The plant, designed to meet the 460 MW FDRE requirement, integrates solar, wind, and battery storage technologies to ensure efficient energy dispatch during peak hours, thereby stabilizing the grid. FDRE enables round-the-clock power supply, assisting distribution companies in fulfilling Renewable Purchase Obligations (RPO) and Energy Storage Obligations (ESO). Adani Green Energy Ltd (AGEL) has announced $400-million financing for its under-construction solar projects in Rajasthan and Gujarat, aggregating 750 mw and expected to come online by November 2024, by a consortium of five international banks. It will provide financing for projects that are expected to come online from November 2024 onwards. AGEL currently has an operational portfolio of 10,934 mw capacity consisting of 7,393 mw solar, 1,401 mw wind and 2,140 mw wind-solar hybrid. (May 3, 2024)

 

Vikram Solar has received a letter of intent from Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd to supply 250 mw worth of solar modules. These modules, fall within the Approved List of Models & Manufacturers (ALMM), and will in the capacity range of 540 Wp to 570 Wp, Vikram Solar said in a release. These modules will be deployed at the Khavda renewable energy park in Gujarat. (May 2, 2024)

 

GE Power India Ltd has announced the winning of two orders collectivity worth Rs.12 crore (exclusive of 18 per cent GST). The first order, placed by NTPC SAIL Power Company Ltd, involves supply of turbine spares. This mandate, valued at around Rs.6 crore, is scheduled for completion in 12 months. The second order, also worth Rs.6 crore and placed by NTPC Ltd, is for inspection of steam turbine at the NTPC Tanda (Stage II) thermal power plant. (May 2, 2024)

Envision Energy and Hero Future Energies have signed a framework agreement for cooperation across multiple aspects of the renewable energy sector including WTG supply and other technologies including BESS and Green Hydrogen. The framework agreement also includes Envision providing 588 MW (178 units of EN 156-3.3 MW Wind Turbine Generators) that will produce 2,200 GWh units of clean energy annually.  Built with a rotor diameter of 156 m, hub- height of 140m and a rated capacity of 3.3 MW, these WTGs are best suited to perform in the Indian wind regime. Waaree Energies Ltd has received a letter of intent from Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd for a 400-mw module supply deal. The contract entails comprehensive supply of solar PV modules incorporating advanced bifacial technology for the 2,375 MW RE Park near Vill. Khavda, Great Rann of Kutch, Gujarat. Waaree Energies will undertake the manufacturing, testing, packing, and transportation of these solar PV modules, while adhering to the prescribed quality standards and an aim to execute the project in a timely manner. Each module, featuring ALMM category specifications and a capacity ranging from 540 Wp to 570 Wp, is expected to ensure optimal performance, durability, and efficiency, a release from Waaree Energies said. BluPine Energy has announced the successful financial closure for its 120-mw solar project in Sadla, Gujarat, won under the GUVNL-18 auction. BluPine Energy accomplished this milestone by securing the debt financing of Rs.418 crore for its project from HDFC Bank. After completion, the plant is expected to generate about 3.23 lakh MWh of solar energy annually, BluPine Energy said. (April 29, 2024)

Sharika Enterprises Ltd has received an order valued at around Rs.2.95 crore from Uttar Pradesh Power Transmission Corporation Ltd for supply and erection of outdoor equipment, comprising two 145kV bays, at the 400kV Rasara substation in Balia, Uttar Pradesh. Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd announced its strategic partnership with Indian Bank to bolster the adoption of solar rooftop among residential consumers. The collaboration aims to facilitate financing solutions under the popular Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana scheme for installations up to 3KW, as well as extend support for installations from 3kW to 10kW under the regular scheme. Under the framework of the scheme, residential consumers can avail loans up to Rs.2 lakh at an annual interest rate of 7 per cent, in compliance with government regulations.  With a nominal margin money requirement of 10 per cent and collateral-free financing, homeowners can embark on their solar journey with ease. Orient Electric Ltd, in a stock exchange communication, said that Telangana State Factories Department, Government of Telangana, on April 19, 2024, issued “factory licence” to Orient Electric for its upcoming manufacturing plant in Hyderabad. The manufacturing plant, on which no details are currently available, is yet to start commercial operations. This factory licence is mandatory before commencement of commercial production, Orient Electric said. (April 20, 2024)

 

Inox Wind Ltd has bagged an order for the supply of 210 mw worth of wind turbine generators from Hero Future Energies (HFE). The order is for IWL’s 3-mw WTGs, and the scope comprises of equipment supply with certain add-on services. Additionally, Inox Wind will provide post commissioning multi-year O&M services. The WTGs will be supplied to HFE from Q3FY25 onwards and will be installed in south India. (April 19, 2024)

Avaada Energy has announce the successful closure of its refinancing transaction, securing about Rs.4,471 crore from the state-owned lender, National Bank for Financing Infrastructure & Development (NaBFID). This refinancing transaction, conducted under a Restricted Group (RG) structure, encompasses four ISTS-connected solar projects with a combined capacity of around 1,700 mw in Rajasthan. NTPC Green Energy Ltd (NGEL) and Indus Towers LTd (ITL) have signed an MoU with a view to exploring joint development of grid-connected renewable energy-based power projects including solar, wind, energy storage etc. and/or solutions thereof. Avaada Energy has announced the winning of 250 mw solar-wind hybrid power capacity in a recent tender issued by NTPC Ltd. Avaada Energy won this project quoting Rs.3.47 per kwh. The project, which can be set up anywhere in India within 24 months, will be connected to the interstate transmission system (ISTS) network. Power generated from this project will be sold to NTPC via a 25-year power purchase agreement. (April 18, 2024)

 

Apraava Energy partnered with CII Foundation to honour 15 women change-makers from Assam. These women leaders have uplifted over 1,000 women from disadvantaged communities in the state. Under the ‘Empowering Champions of Change’ initiative led by Apraava Smart Meter Pvt Ltd, an Apraava Energy subsidiary, these women were recognized for their contribution in bringing grassroots-level transformation to society.  Their area of work includes addressing issues pertaining to domestic violence, livelihoods, re-enrollment of school dropouts, adult literacy, etc. This group of women will now receive training to enhance their leadership skills and lead district-level community projects aimed at addressing socio-economic inequalities, aspiring to positively impact over 15,000 women of marginalized communities. Juniper Green Energy has announced the commissioning of its maiden wind power project, contributing 70 mw to Gujarat’s renewable energy capacity. Currently, 25.2 mw is operational as part of the project’s progressive rollout. The project has been commissioned in record time, almost nine months before the project SCOD, a release from Juniper Green Energy said.  This project shall deliver power under a 25-year PPA with GUVNL at a tariff of Rs.2.90 per kwh, and is expected to annually generate 230 million kwh of electricity enough to power around 45,440 households, the release added. Sharika Enterprises Ltd, in a release, said that has it has been empanelled by Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) as a system integrator for all networking and communication projects of PGCIL. As system integrator, Sharika Enterprises will contribute to the PGCIL’s ambition to modernize the grid system with cutting edge communication technologies in order to bring more situational awareness and real time actions to manage grid stability, improve efficiency and predictability, the release said. Mahindra Group, in a release, said that it has planned to develop a 150-mw hybrid (solar + wind) renewable energy project in Maharashtra, with a capital outlay of around Rs.1,200 crore. The project that will include 101 mw of wind capacity and 52 mw of solar will be developed by Mahindra Susten, part of Mahindra Group, and is expected to commission within two years. Husk Power Systems has secured additional $4 million in debt financing from ElectriFI. This builds upon ElectriFI’s initial $6 million investment in September 2022. ElectriFI’s continued support reflects Husk’s impressive performance in achieving its initial impact targets, proves the feasibility of their business model and shows experience of leadership to execute its operational targets. Significantly, Husk’s strong performance, made possible in part by ElectriFI’s initial investment, enabled them to secure additional investments in a Series D capital raise of $43 million, a release said.  (April 15, 2024)

 

SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), on April 8, 2024, signed a joint venture cum shareholder agreement with Assam Power Distribution Company Ltd (APDCL) to form a 51:49 joint venture that will set up green energy projects in the command areas of SJVN, SGEL or APDCL, and on pan-India basis. Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) announced that it has commissioned a transmission project related to power evacuation from the 2×500-mw New Neyveli Thermal Power Station (NNTPS) of NLC India Ltd at Neyveli in Tamil Nadu. Though the project was commissioned on February 10, 2024, the notification for commercial operation (date of commercial operation) was received on April 10, 2024, PGCIL said in a brief stock exchange notification. Gensol Engineering Ltd, in a release, said that its outstanding order book as at the beginning of FY25 stands at Rs.1,783 crore that will be executed over a period of 12 months. Of this order book, Rs.1,448 crore represents solar EPC orders, inclusive of orders booked by subsidiary company Scorpius Trackers. The remaining Rs.335 crore relates to the electric vehicle leasing business. (April 10, 2024)

 

Hartek Power has reportedly won a Rs.474-crore EPC order from an unnamed independent power producer (IPP) for constructing a 300-mw solar power plant. The ground-mounted solar plant, covering 1,209 acres of land, is coming up in Rajasthan, it is learnt. (April 10, 2024)

 

Juniper Green Energy, in a release, said that it has commissioned its 105-mw Jalkot Solar Power Project in Maharashtra. The project was commissioned almost nine months before the scheduled commissioning date, the company said. The Jalkot Solar Power Project shall deliver power under a 25-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with state utility Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd. (April 10, 2024)

 

NTPC Ltd has targeted to add 5 GW of power generation capacity of 5 GW in FY25, out of which 2 GW will be from renewable energy sources while 2 GW will come from thermal projects. In FY24, NTPC added 3,924 mw of new capacity, bringing its cumulative installed capacity to nearly 76 GW. Presently, NTPC Group has an operational RE capacity of 3.5 GW, with an extensive pipeline exceeding 20 GW. By 2032, NTPC is looking to expand its non-fossil based capacity to 45-50 per cent of the company’s portfolio that will include 60 GW RE of capacity in a total portfolio of 130 GW. Jyoti Ltd, in a stock exchange filing, reported the winning of a supply order worth Rs.38.25 crore from Larsen & Toubro Ltd for 29 vertical-turbine pumps and HT motors. The order is scheduled for completion by December 31, 2024, the filing said. (April 5, 2024)

 

KEC International has reported the winning of new orders valued at Rs.816 crore across its various businesses including civil, power T&D and cables. The power T&D-related orders relate to supply of towers to USA. These orders were booked in FY24 and have taken the cumulative order inflow in that year to Rs.18,102 crore, according to a release by KEC International. (April 4, 2024)

 

H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd, in consortium with Stockwell Solar Services Pvt Ltd, has been awarded two contracts together valued at Rs.156 crore by state power utility Jodhpur Vidyut Vitran Nigam Ltd. The orders relate to EPC services of two grid-tied solar power projects of capacity 11.56 mw and 25.10 mw, respectively. The orders are scheduled for completion in 12 months, H.G. GE Power India has won two orders, together valued at Rs.32.75 crore (excluding GST), the company said in a stock exchange filing. The first order, worth Rs.24 crore and to be completed in 15 months, is for supply of generator spares and turbine blades for NTPC’s Nabinagar power plant in Bihar. The second order, placed by Hindustan Zinc, is for R&M works of a boiler at Chanderiya in Rajasthan. It is valued at Rs.8.75 crore with scheduled completion time of 12 months. (April 1, 2024)

 

TP Saurya Ltd, a subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd, has announced the successful commissioning of a 200-mw solar project in Bikaner, Rajasthan, for Tata Power Trading Company Ltd, a Tata Power subsidiary. With this, the total renewables capacity of TPREL has reached 9,018 mw (PPA capacity: 7,632 mw) including 4,547 mw projects under various stages of implementation and its operational capacity now is 4,471 mw, which includes 3,444 mw solar and 1,027 mw wind. Waaree Energies Ltd has signed a contract with Sprng Energy Pvt Ltd, a Shell group company, to supply 245 mw of solar PV modules. Accordingly, Waaree Energies will supply 220 mw of “AHNAY Series, Bi-55 545Wp” modules, to be utilized for Sprng’s project in Gujarat. Set up in 2017, Sprng Energy currently has cumulative contracted capacity of over4.8GWp, and operational portfolio of 2.3GWp. (April 1, 2024)

Husk Power Systems has obtained $20 million in debt financing from the European Investment Bank (EIB) to scale its operations in Nigeria. The investment will fund construction of community solar mini-grids in Nigeria, installation of rooftop solar for commercial & industrial (C&I) customers, expansion of appliance sales to households and small businesses and the scaling of value-added services such as agro-processing and e-mobility. Currently, Husk has more than 20 mini grids operational in Nigeria, and has set a target of having at least 500 mini grids in the country within the next five years. (March 29, 2024)

 

Adani Green Energy Ltd has commissioned a 180-mw solar power plant at Devikot in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. The plant has a 25-year PPA with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI). The plant is equipped with waterless robotic module cleaning systems, enabling water conservation in the barren region of Jaisalmer. With this, AGEL’s operational solar portfolio has increased to 6,243 mw, and the total operational renewable generation capacity to 9,784 mw. (March 27, 2024)

 

NTPC Ltd and NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NREL) have entered into foreign currency loan agreements worth JPY 30 billion each ($200 million or Rs.1,650 crore) with Japan Bank for International Co-operation (JBIC).  While JBIC has provided 60 per cent of the facility amount, the balance has been provided by other commercial banks under JBIC guarantee. The loan proceeds shall be utilized by NTPC for funding part of its capex requirements for FGD retrofitting at its coal-fired power plants. NREL shall use the loan proceeds to finance its capital expenditure for renewable energy projects. (March 27, 2024)

 

H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd has reported the winning of orders valued at around Rs.1,560 crore for EPC and O&M of five grid-connected solar power plants with aggregate capacity of around 367 MW (AC). These orders, to be completed concurrently in 12 months, were placed by Jodhpur Vidyut Vitaran Nigam Ltd, Rajasthan, under KUSUM Scheme – Component C (Feeder-level Solarization). These orders will be executed by H.G. Infra Engineering Ltd in association with Stockwell Solar Services Pvt Ltd. (March 23, 2024)

 

Gensol Engineering Ltd, in a stock exchange communication, said that it has received an EPC order from an unnamed power generation utility in Maharashtra for developing a 100 MWAC/135 MWp ground-mounted solar PV project in the state. This Rs.520-crore contract is the company’s largest-ever turnkey contract. Spread over 500 acres of land, the project is scheduled to commission in 450 days, the company said. (March 22, 2024)

Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd (RVNL) has emerged as the lowest bidder (L1) from South Eastern Railway for “Design, supply, erection, testing and commissioning for upgradation of electric traction system from 1x25kV to 2x25kV traction system for Rajkharsawan-Nayagarh-Bolani section of Chakradharpur division of South Eastern Railway to meet 3,000 MT loading target.” The contract, valued at around Rs.167.28 crore, is scheduled for completion in 18 months, RVNL said in a stock exchange filing. Inox Green Energy Services Ltd (IGESL) announced that its subsidiary I-Fox Windtechnik India Pvt Ltd has won an order from NLC India Ltd for the restoration of 33 wind turbine generators (each 1.5 MW) of NLCIL’s wind power plant located in Tenkasi District in the state of Tamil Nadu. The scope of the contract comprises supplies of materials/spares and other activities for the restoration of the 33 WTGs within a period of 8 months, with a revenue realisation of about Rs.39.5 crore (inclusive of taxes) during the contract period. Servotech Power Systems Ltd has secured a contract from Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC). This contract involves Servotech supplying, commissioning, and constructing 20 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations throughout the Nashik Municipal Corporation area. Servotech will oversee the installation, supply, commissioning, construction and maintenance of EV charging stations, catering to various vehicles and substantially improving Nashik’s EV charging network, the company said. SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), a subsidiary of SJVN Ltd, has received the letter of intent from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) for developing a 500-mw solar project in the GUVNL Phase –XXI auction. SGEL had bagged the project (100 mw + 400 mw green shoe) through a competitive bidding process at a tariff of Rs.2.54 per kwh. Estimated to cost Rs.2,700 crore, this project will come up at the Khavda solar park of Gujarat Industries Power Company Ltd. (March 14, 2024)

 

JSW Neo Energy Ltd has received the letter of award for ISTS-connected solar capacity of 700 mw from Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), against tariff-based competitive bid invited for setting up of 1,500 mw ISTS-connected solar power projects. with this awarded capacity of 700 mw under SECI Tranche XIII, the company’s total locked-in generation capacity increases to 11.7 GW, of which 2.1 GW will be solar, JSW Energy, the holding company of JSW Neo Energy Ltd, said in a stock exchange filing. BluPine Energy has announced the successful financial closure for its 198-mw wind project in Gujarat, secured under the GUVNL wind 3 tender. BluPine Energy secured green loan financing for its project through Standard Chartered Bank and Tata Capital.  The total debt sanctioned for this project is Rs.1,260 crore .After completion, the plant is expected to generate about 65 Gwh of wind energy annually. Recyclekaro is planning to introduce India’s first Plasma Furnace Technology Unit for the extraction of high-value metals. Plasma Furnace Technology leverages high-temperature plasma arcs to efficiently extract valuable metals from diverse waste streams. Unlike conventional methods that may pose environmental risks, this technology offers a cleaner, more sustainable approach to metal extraction, a release from Recyclekaro said. With the installation of the new plasma furnace, Recyclekaro’s e-waste recycling capacity is set to increase nearly tenfold to 75,000 metric tonnes per year, the release added. (March 12, 2024)

KP Energy Ltd has received new order of total capacity of 368.55 mw — 185.85MW by Aditya Birla Renewables Subsidiary Ltd and 182.70 mw by ABREL (RJ) Projects Ltd — for development of balance of plant for 368.55 mw wind capacity forming part of an upcoming wind-solar hybrid project in Gujarat. The order also includes development of a 220kV transmission line for evacuation of 673 mw. KP Energy will be responsible for providing a range of EPCC services for the project, entailing land acquisition, design, manufacturing, supply, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning for the balance of plant and securing the necessary project approvals. Genus Power Infrastructures Ltd, in a stock exchange filing, said that on March 6, 2024, the company incorporated three wholly-owned subsidiaries named Genus Smart Metering Pvt Ltd, Genus Metering Infra Pvt Ltd and Genus Advance Metering Pvt Ltd. Each of these entities has been incorporated as a special purpose vehicle for execution of Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) contracts, Genus Power said without giving further details on the precise contracts that these entities would be entrusted. Suzlon Group has announced a new order win for the development of a 72.45-mw wind power project for Juniper Green Energy. Suzlon will install 23 wind turbine generators with a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 3.15 mw each at the client’s site at the Dwarka district in Gujarat.  This order is for the company’s larger rated 3.15 mw, S144‐140m turbines from the 3-mw product series. As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply the wind turbines (equipment supply) and execute the project including, erection sand commissioning. Suzlon will also undertake comprehensive operations and maintenance services post‐commissioning. (March 7, 2024)

 

As part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs, Hitachi Energy initiated a community outreach program, which also coincides with the celebration of International Women’s Day. Through this program, over a couple of weeks, the company reached out to over 1,000 students from government schools in Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Vadodara, with a special focus on girl students (see picture). Adani Green Energy Twenty Four A Ltd and Adani Green Energy Twenty Four B Ltd, wholly-owned step-down subsidiaries of Adani Green Energy Ltd have operationalized an incremental 448.95 mw of solar power projects at Khavda, Gujarat. Together with earlier projects, an aggregate of 1,000 mw of solar power projects are operationalized at Khavda. With operationalization of these plants, AGEL’s total operational renewable generation capacity has increased to 9,478 mw, in its journey of 45 GW capacity by 2030, Adani Green Energy said in a stock exchange communication. The board of directors of NTPC Ltd, in its meeting on March 3, 2024, accorded investment approval to the Singrauli thermal power project (Stage III) of 2×800-mw at an appraised current estimated cost of Rs.17,195.31 crore. It is understood from independent sources that BHEL, on December 21, 2023, submitted its price bids for the EPC package of this project and BHEL is learnt to be the only bidder. Located in Sonebhadra district of Uttar Pradesh, the Singrauli thermal power project currently has installed capacity of 2,000 mw spread over five units of 200 mw and two of 500 mw, commissioned between 1982 and 1987. Alfa Transformers, in a stock exchange filing, said that it has received a Rs.27.39-crore order from three power utilities under Gujarat Electricity Board for the supply of 4,994 transformers of 10kVA rating, within seven months of the date of order. Torrent Power Ltd has received a letter of award from Railway Energy Management Company Ltd (REMCL) for setting up of grid-connected renewable power projects, with or without storage, for supply of 100 mw round-the-clock (RTC) power. The project shall be commissioned within 24 months from the signing of PPA. The project, estimated to cost Rs.2,700 crore, involves setting up of around 325 mw of RE capacity, so as to enable 100 mw of RTC-RE power. Torrent Power is will supply power at Rs.4.25 per kwh for a 25-year period. (March 2, 2024)

 

Servotech Power Systems Ltd has bagged an order of 1,400 DC fast EV chargers from Indian Oil Corporation Ltd and other EV charger OEMs. The total order, valued at Rs.111 crore, involves two charger variants of 60kW and 120kW. The order secured by IOCL involves Servotech manufacturing, supplying and installing DC EV chargers nationwide, prioritizing deployment at IndianOil petrol pumps and other said locations. Additionally, Servotech will also manufacture and supply the rest of the chargers to EV charger OEMs. (March 1, 2024)

 

NTPC Ltd announced the successful commercial operations of Unit-2 of its Telangana Super Thermal Power Project (STPP), Stage-I (2×800-mw), effective March 1, 2024. This has taken NTPC’s standalone installed capacity to 58,638 mw and NTPC Group’s commercial capacity to 74,758 mw. (March 1, 2024)

 

Amplus Solar has successfully commissioned its first ISTS-connected solar project. This 360-mw power plant, located in Jaimalsar village in Bikaner district of Rajasthan, will supply power to C&I consumers nationwide. The solar facility is equipped with the latest available solar technology, including bi-facial modules, single-axis trackers, and 100 per cent robotic cleaning systems, a release by Amplus Solar said. Jakson Green has signed its first PPA, marking the company’s entry in the renewable energy IPP segment. The 25-year PPA was signed with Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) and relates to a project won by Jakson in SECI’s Tranche XI auction. Jakson Green will be responsible for identifying suitable land, installing the project, and acquiring ownership, besides ensuring necessary approvals and connectivity with the ISTS network for supplying power to SECI. The project is expected to be operational within 18 months from PPA signing date. (March 1, 2024)

 

Sharika Enterprises Ltd has announced its plans to enter into the manufacturing of electrical control panels, the company said in a release. NTPC Green Energy Ltd, on February 28, 2024, signed a joint venture agreement with Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd (Mahagenco) for development of renewable energy parks in Maharashtra. The JV company shall develop GW-scale RE park and projects in a phased manner, thereby realizing the green energy objectives of NTPC and the GOI’s efforts towards energy transition, an official release said. Mahagenco currently has an installed power generation capacity of about 13,170 mw that includes 9,540 mw coal-based, 2,580 mw of hydropower, 672 mw gas-based and 378 mw from solar power plants. Waaree Energies Ltd has entered into an agreement with Mahindra Susten for the supply of 280 mw of AHNAY Series, Bi-55 545Wp modules to Mahindra Susten. Module delivery is expected during third quarter of FY25.  The selected modules by Mahindra Susten are bifacial Glass-to-Glass with a 30-year output performance warranty, a release from Waaree Energies said. SJVN, through its wholly-owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), has signed a Power Usage Agreement (PUA) with Jammu & Kashmir Power Corporation Ltd (JKPCL). The PUA has been signed for 300-mw of solar power capacity to be supplied to JKPCL from the under-construction 1,000-mw Bikaner solar power project that is being developed by SGEL in Rajasthan under IREDA’s CPSU Scheme at a cost of Rs.5,491 crore. SJVN has announced successful commercial operation of its 50-mw Gujrai solar power station located in District Kanpur Dehat, Uttar Pradesh. With this, the total installed capacity of SJVN now stands at 2,277 mw with ten power stations currently operational. The 50-mw Gujrai solar power station was executed by SJVN through its renewable arm, SJVN Green Energy Ltd (SGEL), with an outlay of Rs.281 crore. Servotech Power Systems Ltd has bagged an order for nearly 1,500 DC fast EV chargers from Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) and other EV charger OEMs. Valued at Rs.102 crore, the order involves two charger variants of 60 kW and 120 kW. The order placed by HPCL involves Servotech manufacturing, supplying and installing DC EV chargers nationwide, prioritizing deployment at HPCL’s retail outlets. (February 23, 2024)

 

Jakson Green has announced the signing of its first power purchase agreement. The 25-year PPA was signed with Rajasthan Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (RUVNL) for a 100-mnw solar PV plant in Rajasthan that Jakson Green had won in April 2023 under an auction conducted by RUVNL in April 2023, at a tariff of Rs.2.61 per kwh. The project is scheduled to commission within 18 months from the PPA signing date. (February 23, 2024)

 

Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions and Bangalore International Airport Ltd (BIAL) have signed a 25-year power purchase agreement for the generation and supply of renewable energy from a 45.9-mw solar-wind captive power project under a SPV named Clean Max BIAL Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd. The captive power project set up in the solar-wind farm located in Jagaluru, Karnataka, owned and operated by CleanMax, will consist of 36 mw(p) MWp of solar power and 9.9 mw of wind power plants. The project will ensure annual supply of around 58.3 MU (million units or million kwh) of solar power and 31 MU of wind power utilising the existing grid infrastructure. (February 23, 2024)

Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd has signed a power delivery agreement with Tata Communications for an 18.75 MW AC group captive solar power plant. The project, facilitated through a special purpose vehicle Nivade Windfarm Ltd has an estimated order value of Rs.105 crore. Located in Aachegaon, Maharashtra, the plant is projected to generate approximately 40 MU of power while offsetting more than 30,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions annually. (February 14, 2024)

 

Sterlite Power has announced the successful refinancing of the Lakadia-Vadodara Transmission project loan within 12 months of the project becoming fully operational. The new financing from HDFC Bank, IIFCL and Bank of Baroda will enable prepayment of the existing project loan of approximately Rs.1,840 crore, Sterlite Power said in a release. HPL Electric & Power Ltd, in a stock exchange filing, said that it has received an order worth Rs.181 crore from a leading but unnamed Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) for the supply of smart meters. “The order is to be executed as per the terms and conditions of the Letter of Award (LoA),” the filing said without giving any further details. Bid process coordinator REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), on February 9, 2024, handed over five project SPVs incorporated for development of ISTS schemes to the respective successful bidders. Accordingly, Dhule Power Transmission Ltd and Ishanagar Power Transmission Ltd were transferred to a consortium of India Grid Trust subsidiaries; Bidar Transmission Ltd and Sikar Khetri Transmission Ltd were handed over to Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd; Karera Power Transmission Ltd went to Apraava Energy. In a recent official notice, PFC Consulting Ltd (PFCCL) has terminated the bidding process for appointment of Advanced Metering Infrastructure Service Provider (AMISP) for implementation of a smart metering project in UT of Puducherry. No reasons for the termination were immediately available. As reported by T&D India, PFCCL had technically qualified seven bidders for the purpose of opening of financial bids, which was scheduled to take place on January 19, 2024. (February 12, 2024)

 

SJVN has received the letter of intent from Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL) for a 200-mw solar power project. SJVN Green Energy Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of SJVN had earlier bagged the initial 100-mw solar project through bidding and further 100 mw under the greenshoe option, at a tariff of Rs 2.63 per unit on BOO basis in e-RA conducted by GUVNL in December 2023. The ground mounted solar project, estimated to cost Rs.1,100 crore, can be located anywhere in India and will sell power to GUVNL under a 25-year PPA. (February 8, 2024)

 

Jyoti Structures Ltd (JSL), in a stock exchange communication, said that it has received a Rs.290-crore order to be completed in 18 months from Torrent PowerGrid Ltd. The order entails EPC work of a 400kV multi-circuit transmission line in Gujarat. Another order was received for design and prototype testing of tower for the 400kV double-circuit Oman-UAE Interconnector project. This order, worth $1.8 million (around Rs.15 crore), is to be executed in six months, the JSL filing said. (February 7, 2024)

 

GE Power India Ltd (GEPIL) has received an order valued at Rs.5.46 crore from Lanco Anpara Power Pvt Ltd related to replacement/refurbishment of bottom bars related to 660-mw DEC-make generator at Anpara. Waaree Renewable Technologies Ltd (WRTL), in a stock exchange filing, said that it has received an order from an unnamed domestic entity for EPC work of a solar power plant of 412 MWp/335 MWac, on turnkey basis. The order, valued at Rs.547.50 crore, is scheduled for completion by December 31, 2024. WRTL’s unexecuted order book, post this mandate, stands at 1.161 GW. The Odisha government has sanctioned a 3-acre plot to Best Power Equipments (BPE) where the company will make multimillion-dollar investment to establish a factory near Bhubaneswar in the next three years, a release by BPE said. BPE currently operates from six manufacturing units in Noida and Greater Noida. BCPL Railway Infrastructure Ltd has signed an agreement for execution of an EPC project under Alipurduar and Rangiya Divisions of Northeast Frontier (NF) Railway. This contract agreement has been received for the work of engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of 25kV, 50Hz, single-phase AC electrification work including OHE, TSS, SCADA and CLS panel works in Abhayapuri – Gauripur single line section under Alipurduar and Rangiya division of NF Railway in EPC mode. The length of the corridor is 84.577 route km or 100.411 track km. has bagged an order of 1,800 DC Fast EV Chargers from Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL). The project valued at Rs.120 crore will involve Servotech manufacturing, supplying, installing and strategically deploying these 1800 EV chargers across the nation, particularly at BPCL petrol pumps in major cities, as part of the BPCL E-drive Project. Suzlon Group has announced an order from an Evren company, ABC Cleantech Pvt Ltd, for installation of 214 wind turbine generators with a hybrid lattice tubular (HLT) tower and rated capacity of 3-mw each, in Andhra Pradesh.  Apart from the supply of WTGs, Suzlon will also undertake installation, commissioning and post-commissioning O&M for the project. NTPC Green Energy Ltd has signed an MoU with Maharashtra government for development of green hydrogen (and its derivatives like green ammonia, green methanol) of up to 1 million tonnes per year capacity, as well as pumped storage hydro projects of 2 GW and development of renewable energy projects with or without storage up to 5 GW in the state. The MoU is part of Maharashtra’s Green Investment Plan and envisages potential investment of approximately Rs.80, 000 crore, over the next five years. (January 30, 2024)

 

Advait Infratech Ltd has announced the completion of a groundbreaking 300kW Green hydrogen Production plant and 70 kWh PEM fuel cell at office complex of THDC India, in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. The project, initiated on January 5, 2023, incorporates a 300 kWh alkaline electrolyser, capable of generating 50 kg of high-purity hydrogen during daylight hours. This hydrogen is stored in a 24m3 storage tank, pressurized at 30 bar, ensuring its availability when needed. During nighttime, the stored hydrogen seamlessly powers a 70 kWh fuel cell, feeding energy into THDC’s grid and contributing to a more stable and sustainable power supply. (January 27, 2024)

 

SJVN has secured full quoted capacity of a 100-mw solar power project through e-reverse auction conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd. The project was bagged at a tariff of Rs.2.54 per kwh, on BOO basis, through a tariff based competitive bidding process of GUVNL Phase XXI. This Rs.550-crore ground-mounted project shall be developed by SJVN Green Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of SJVN Ltd, at the Khavda solar park of Gujarat Industrial Power Corporation Ltd. CapitaLand India Trust (CLINT) has set up its first captive solar power plant. Located in Tamil Nadu, this 21-mw solar plant will generate over 30 million kwh of electricity annually. Power generated from the solar plant will be utilised predominantly for the common areas of CLINT’s assets in Tamil Nadu. This will increase CLINT’s green energy usage by over 70 per cent, reduce its carbon emissions by more than 17,000 tonnes. The facility has an 8-mw expansion potential to bring the solar plant’s total size to 29 mw, a release by CLINT said. (January 25, 2024)

 

SJVN Green Energy Ltd, a subsidiary of SJVN, has signed a contract agreement for the balance of system (BoS) of its 360-mw solar power project with Solar World Energy Solutions Pvt Ltd, Noida. State power utility Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Ltd (MPPTCL) recently held a knowledge-sharing seminar with Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) for the purpose of technology sharing. Following this, PGCIL will be sharing its advanced technology, particularly for maintenance of EHV transmission lines and substations. GE Power India has received a Rs.7.01-crore order (exclusive of GST) for design, engineering, supply of wind box casing with buck stay, bracings etc. along with modified air register and dismantling of existing system and erection of wind box along with modified air register in Unit-1 of 210-mw ABL-make boilers of Sanjay Gandhi Thermal Power Station (Phase-I) at Birshinghpur in Madhya Pradesh. Adani Group has signed several MoUs with the Maharashtra and Telangana governments outlining investment of over Rs.60,000 crore over the next ten years. Some projects envisaged in Telangana include a 100-mw data centre with investment of Rs.5,000 crore over the next 5-7 years and two pumped storage projects — Koyabestagudem (850 mw) and Nacharam (500 mw). In Maharashtra, the business conglomerate will be setting up 1-GW hyperscale data infrastructure with an investment of Rs.50,000 crore over the next 10 years. (January 18, 2024)

 

Ultracab (India) Ltd, in a stock exchange communication, said that it has won orders worth Rs.12.89 crore for cables from Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd, Hindustan Zinc, Jain Irrigation, Toshiba, etc, apart from recent orders worth Rs.56.44 crore from companies like Sterling & Wilson and Tata Power. Vestas has established a partnership with ArcelorMittal to launch a low-emission steel offering that significantly reduces lifetime carbon dioxide emissions from the production of wind turbine towers. The low-emission steel is produced using 100 per cent steel scrab which is melted in an electric arc furnace powered by 100 per cent wind energy at the ArcelorMittal steel mill, Industeel Charleroi, in Belgium. This would translate to approximately 25 per cent reduction of emission compared to a tower made from steel made via conventional steelmaking route. Steel and iron constitute 80-90 per cent of a wind turbine’s material mass, and approximately 50 per cent of a turbine’s total lifecycle emissions, Vestas said.  (January 16, 2024)

 

Vertiv has announced that the company has increased capacity of its switchgear, busway and integrated modular solutions (IMS) business by more than 100 per cent since acquiring the E&I Engineering and PowerBar Gulf switchgear, busway and IMS business in November 2021, and anticipates further doubling capacity with expansions through the end of 2025. The expansion plans enable Vertiv to support current commitments and accelerating customer demand for data center power infrastructure, especially for colocation and hyperscale sites, including applications for AI and high-performance compute. Sarda Energy & Minerals Ltd, in a stock exchange communication, said that it has placed an order valued at around Rs.150 crore on Gensol Engineering Ltd for design, engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning of a solar power plant of 50 mw (DC) in Chhattisgarh. The plant, which would be used by Sarda Energy, for meeting its captive energy requirements, is scheduled to commission over the next 6-9 months. (January 15, 2024)

 

HPL Electric & Power Ltd, in a stock exchange communication, said that it has received smart meter orders aggregating Rs.240 crore from leading Advance Metering Infrastructure Service Providers (AMISP), in the normal course of business. “This accomplishment adds to HPL’s already existing significant order pipeline, reinforcing its ongoing upward momentum in the dynamic smart meter sector,” the communication said without giving further details on the orders. Avaada Group has signed an MoU with the Government of Gujarat to set up 6 GW of hybrid wind-solar projects in the state with an investment of about Rs 40,000 crore. The hybrid projects, located in various districts of Gujarat, predominantly in the underdeveloped waste lands of Kutch, will supply power to various utilities of India including GUVNL, and for captive use of Avaada’s green hydrogen/ammonia projects. With an estimated annual generation of 17.5 billion units of green electricity, this will lead to a reduction of approximately 16.3 million tons of CO2 equivalent emissions annually, a release from Avaada Group said. NTPC Green Energy Ltd has executed MoUs with Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation Ltd. (GSPC) and Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd. (GPPL) during the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit held recently. The MoU with GSPC envisages blending of green hydrogen in the gas networks of GSPC, and green hydrogen mobility by setting up of green hydrogen fuelling stations in Gujarat. The agreement with GPPL aims to develop a green hydrogen ecosystem including production of green ammonia at the land provided by GPPL for export and domestic market. It also aims to explore Pipavav Port as an anchor port by NGEL for exploration, development and operations of offshore wind farms in Gujarat. (January 13, 2024)

 

Siemens AG has completed the acquisition of Netherlands-headuartered Heliox, a technology leader in DC fast charging solutions, serving eBus and eTruck fleets and passenger vehicles. The acquisition complements Siemens’ existing eMobility charging portfolio, adding products and solutions ranging from 40 kW to megawatt charging solutions for depots and en-route charging. Heliox’s portfolio also extends Siemens’ market reach, primarily in Europe and North America, while improving capabilities in power electronics. Heliox’s mobile, scalable and parallel charging solutions will enable Siemens to serve these markets better, Siemens said in a release. (January 12, 2024)

 

The Power Department of Government of Meghalaya has signed an MoU with ONGC Tripura Power Company Ltd . The three-year agreement envisages the development of a pump storage hydro power project, large and small hydroelectric power projects, and innovative solutions like floating solar projects, in Meghalaya. The MOU establishes a robust framework for collaborative efforts, propelling Meghalaya towards a greener and more energy-efficient future,  an official release said. (January 11, 2024)

 

GE Power India has receievd an order worth Rs.10.30 crore (excluding GST) from NTPC for supply of spares and repair of HP Inner Casing Module. The order is to be executed over the next 10.5 months, GE Power India said in a stock exchange communication. (January 10, 2024)

 

Under the “Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) Scheme (Mode-1-Tranche-I),” nodal agency Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has allocated a total green hydrogen production capacity of 4,10,000 tonnes per year. The winners include  ACME Cleantech Solutions, Greenko ZeroC and Reliance Green Hydrogen & Green Chemicals, among six others. (January 10, 2024)

Adani Green Energy Ltd has planned to invest Rs.24,500 crore in setting up three pumped storage projects in Tamil Nadu, over the next 5-7 years. This is part of the Rs.42,700 crore worth of investment that Adani Group would be making in the southern state, the MoUs for which were signed at the recent “Tamil Nadu Global Investors Meet 2024.” (January 9, 2024)

 

Inox Wind Ltd has received a letter of intent for executing a 50-mw ISTS-connected wind power project on turnkey basis from NLC India Ltd. As part of the project, Inox Wind will supply, install and commission its DF 113/92 – 2.0 MW capacity wind turbine generators and provide comprehensive O&M services for over 10 years, post commissioning. The project will be executed at the mega Dayapar site in Kutch district of Gujarat. (January 9, 2024)

 

Power Mech Projects Ltd has received an order worth Rs.825 crore from Mahan Energen Ltd, a subsidiary of Adani Power Ltd. The order includes various civil and mechanical construction work packages related to Mahan Energen’s upcoming 2×800-mw (Phase II) Mahan ultra supercritical thermal power project in Madhya Pradesh (Village: Bandhua, District: Singrauli). The various packages are expected to be completed over a period of 22 to 33 months, Power Mech Projects said in a stock exchange communication. (January 8, 2024)

 

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) through its Growth Markets Fund I (CI GMF I) have taken final investment decision (FID) on a 300-mw onshore wind project in Karnataka, together with Viviid Renewables (Viviid). Construction is expected to be completed by end of 2025. CIP has also signed a turbine supply agreement with Envision Wind Power Technologies India and a foundation and crane supply contract with Sanghvi Movers. Viviid will provide balance-of-plant works and services and hold minority ownership in the project. (January 8, 2024)

 

Serentica Renewables has announced the signing of its first international and commercial bank foreign currency loan worth Rs.3,500 crore for its round-the-clock RE project in India. This deal will help Serentica in funding the development of its 530-mw hybrid (wind and solar) RE project coming up in Rajasthan and Maharashtra. This project will provide clean energy to Hindustan Zinc Ltd (HZL), replacing 24 per cent of HZL’s their coal-based power supply with firm dispatchable green power. (January 8, 2024)

 

SJVN, through its wholly owned subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Ltd  has signed a Power Usage Agreement (PUA) with Uttarakhand Power Corporation Ltd (UPCL). The PUA has been signed for 200 mw of solar power capacity to be supplied to UPCL from the under-construction 1,000-mw Bikaner solar power project in Rajasthan. Entailing investment of Rs.5,491 crore, the solar power project is scheduled to commission by April 2024. (January 6, 2024)

 

REC Power Development & Consultancy Ltd (RECPDCL), a wholly owned subsidiary of REC Ltd, has inked an MoU with the Government of Gujarat for Rs.2,094.28 Crores for the implementation of the Smart Metering project in PGVCL (Paschim Gujarat Vij Company Ltd.) under Phase 1 of Revamped Distribution Sector Scheme (RDSS). In the strategic collaboration, the Government of Gujarat is set to facilitate RECPDCL in obtaining necessary permissions and clearances for their upcoming projects in the state. The MoU outlines a time-bound framework to streamline the establishment of RECPDCL’s projects in Gujarat, a government release said. (January 5, 2024)

 

Suzlon Group has announced a new order win for the development of a 225-mw wind power project for Everrenew Energy Pvt Ltd. Suzlon will install 75 wind turbine generators (WTGs) with a Hybrid Lattice Tubular (HLT) tower and a rated capacity of 3 MW each at the client’s sites at Vengaimandalam, Trichy district and Ottapidaram, Tuticorin district in Tamil Nadu. This order is for the company’s larger-rated 3 MW, S144-140m turbines from the 3 – 3.15 MW product series. As part of the agreement, Suzlon will supply the wind turbines (equipment supply) and supervise the project, including commissioning. Suzlon will also undertake comprehensive operations and maintenance services post-commissioning. (January 5, 2024)

 

Kundan Green Energy has announced the receipt of a mandate from the Government of Sikkim to set-up two run-of-the-river hydropower projects at Upper Myong Chu and Lower Myong Chu at an investment of Rs.120 crore and Rs.80 crore, respectively. The plant at Upper Myong Chu will generate 12 mw of electricity, while the Lower Myong Chu facility will create 6 mw. These will increase Kundan Green Energy’s hydropower generation to over 50 mw in Sikkim.  Kundan Energy currently has for operational hydropower projects in Sikkim — Lower Lagyap, Meyong Chu, Kalex Khola, and Rabum Chu – aggregating 35 mw. REC Ltd has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bank of Baroda. This agreement will facilitate joint sanctions of loans to fund power, infrastructure and logistics projects in the country over the next three years, an official release said. The MoU was signed in the presence of Vivek Kumar Dewangan, IAS, , REC Ltd and Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda along with Lalit Tyagi, Executive Director, Bank of Baroda. SJVN has formed four JVs for development of clean energy projects in India and Nepal. These JVs have been formed between SJVN (or its subsidiary SJVN Green Energy Ltd) along with partners including Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Ltd, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, Navyuga Engineering Company Ltd, Nepal Electricity Authority, GMR Energy Ltd and Assam Power Development Company Ltd. These JVs will independently pursue opportunities like 5 GW of RE projects in Maharashtra, the 1,878-mw Oju hydropower project in Arunachal Pradesh, the 900-mw Upper Karnali hydropower project in Nepal and 1 GW RE projects in Assam.
