Luhri | T&D India

SJVN Ltd has award the contract for construction of the transmission line associated with its Luhri hydropower project (Stage-1) in Himachal Pradesh.

In a release, SJVN informed that it has entered into an agreement with Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (KPTL) for construction of a 220kV double-circuit single-zebra transmission line associated with the 210-mw Luhri hydropower project (Stage-1) that is spread across the Shimla, Mandi and Kullu districts.

The upcoming transmission line will connect the under-construction Luhri project to the 220/400kV Nanj GIS pooling station in Mandi district via the ISTS (interstate transmission system) network.

The agreement envisages an expenditure of Rs.71.18 crore and it includes end-to-end delivery of commissioned transmission line by August 2024.

The contract agreement was signed by Salil Shamshery Executive Director, Electrical Contracts, SJVN and Prabina Kumar Mohanty Vice President, Projects, KPTL.

Other Luhri HEP contracts

It may be recalled that SVNL in August 2021 had placed major contracts relating to the Luhri hydropower project. While a consortium of Patel Engineering was awarded the civil and hydro-mechanical works, it was Voith that clinched the electromechanical package.

SJVN portfolio

SJVN currently has a total power generation portfolio (planned, under-construction and operational) of around 42 GW spread over hydropower, thermal, solar, wind, etc. The Central PSU has diversified into power transmission as well as power trading.
