SJVN Ltd, in a release, said that it has entered into an EPC contract for a 100-mw solar power project with Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd.
The contract, valued at Rs.612.71 crore includes end-to-end delivery of the commissioned solar plant, including comprehensive O&M of the ground-mounted plant for three years. The project is located at Raghanesda in Gujarat.
The contract agreement was signed by Executive Director (Electrical Contracts) SJVN, Salil Shamshery and Vepul Jain, Chief (Business Development) of Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd. (See photograph)
The letter of award was given through tariff-based competitive bidding. The project will get commissioned within 11 months from the date of receiving of LoA, Tata Power said in an independent release.
Speaking on the win, Ashish Khanna, CEO, (TPREL), said, “We are glad to be associated with SJVN for setting up this 100-MW landmark solar project in the ground-mounted segment. The project win further solidifies our expertise in developing and deploying large scale renewable projects for the public and corporate sector clients around the country.”
With this win, the total portfolio of Tata Power Solar Systems Ltd (a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd has touched 9.9 GW. The company’s order book now stands at Rs.15,520 crore.

GUVNL to buy power
SJVN had secured the Raghanesda solar project at a tariff of Rs.2.64 per kwh through tariff based competitive bidding conducted by Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Ltd (GUVNL). The project is scheduled to be commissioned in the year 2023 and will generate 252 MU energy annually with capacity utilization factor of 28.8 per cent. Power generated from this project will be procured by GUVNL for 25 years for which the PPA has been signed on January 3, 2022.
