SJVN Green Energy Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of SJVN, has entered into long-term PPAs for 300 mw of upcoming renewable energy capacity.
In a release, SJVN said that while one PPA was signed for a 200-mw solar power project with Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Ltd (MSEDCL), the other had Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) as the counterparty. The latter relates to 100 mw of wind power capacity.
SGEL bagged the 200-mw ground-mounted solar project in Maharashtra at a tariff of Rs.2.90 per unit through competitive bidding process in an e-reverse auction organized by MSEDCL. The project, estimated to cost Rs.1,200 crore, is expected to be commissioned in December 2024. The solar project is likely to generate 456 MU in the first year of operations with the cumulative energy generation over a period of 25 years estimated at around 10481 MU.
SGEL, in December 2022, had won the 100-mw wind power project through an e-reverse auction conducted by nodal agency SECI. The project, clinched at a tariff of Rs.2.90 per kwh, is expected to commission by March 2025 with an estimated outlay of Rs.750 crore. It may be noted that SEGL can set up this project anywhere in India.
