Sterlite Power wins orders worth over Rs.3,800 crore in Apr-Dec FY23

Sterlite Power has bagged orders worth Rs.3,800 crore for transmission uprate projects, high-performance conductors and EHV cables, during the first three quarters (April to December) of FY23.

In a release, Sterlite Power said that these orders falling under the company’s “Solutions” business have been won in both the domestic and international markets. In value terms, these are 90 per cent higher than the comparable level in FY22.

The new order wins are for uprate of existing power transmission lines for 132kV, 220kV and 400kV of Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) and state utilities like Meghalaya Power Transmission Corporation Ltd (MePTCL), and West Bengal State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (WBSETCL). For Haryana Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd (HVPNL), the company will supply and install OPGW for fiberization of the state’s existing transmission network for 66kV, 132kV, 220kV and 400kV.

 

Uprate and upgrade of existing transmission networks helps in maximizing power carrying capacities of existing transmission corridors, ensuring faster, economical, and sustainable means of solving energy delivery challenges, Sterlite Power observed.

 

Products Business

In the Products business (which is part of the Solutions business), the company has bagged prestigious orders for conductors and OPGW from large customers in India, Americas, SAARC, and MEA region. Orders include supplies for major green energy transmission projects in India and abroad. The company has also acquired strategic orders for the supply of extra high voltage (EHV) cables to state utilities like Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Ltd (MSETCL) and Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Prasaran Nigam Ltd (RVPNL). The company has also been marking its presence in turnkey EHV cable projects including substation at various utilities like UPPTCL (Uttar Pradesh), OPTL (Odisha) and MPPTCL (Madhya Pradesh).

Business structure

As part of the Solutions business unit, Sterlite Power manufactures and sells a diversified portfolio of products, covering high performance conductors, OPGW and EHV insulated power cables, to domestic as well as international customers, including central and state electricity transmission companies, power transmission infra developers and transmission EPC contractors. Further, its Master System Integrator (MSI) sub-unit is a provider of specialty contracting services, delivering bespoke solutions for the upgrade, uprate and fiberization of brownfield transmission infrastructure projects. In addition, the company also offers underground EHV turnkey services including cable laying and substation development.

 

Infrastructure Business

Under its infrastructure business unit in which company has six transmission projects under development including recently won inter-state transmission system (ISTS) projects in J&K as well as northeast India which will play a pivotal role in connecting clean and green power to the national grid.
