Su-vastika Solar receives patent grant for its Emergency Rescue Device

Emergency Rescue Device Su-vastika ERD | T&D India

Su-vastika Solar, a power storage solutions start-up, has been granted a patent by the Controller of Patent and Design, India Patent Office, for its innovative and revolutionary Emergency Rescue Device (ERD).

A release by Su-vastika Solar said that the ERD is a first of its kind, device equipped to provide 15 minutes to 10 hours of power backup for critical machines including elevators. The Su-vastika ERD is meant to provide jerk free operations during outages to avoid panic situations especially when people are stuck inside the elevator during a power cut.

ERD vs ARD

The ERD operates like a generator in case of power outage and interestingly, it is capable of replacing the generator in similar situations. Emergency Rescue Device (ERD) will gain more success in term of functionality than Automatic Rescue Device (ARD) that is being used currently. ARD didn’t use back-up and was more challenging to work with. With ERD, generator is not required.

More patents in the pipeline

Commenting on the development, Khushboo Sachdev, Director, Su-vastika Solar Power Systems, said, “It is a matter of great pride for us to have our ERD technology recognized. Our product is uniquely placed to offer relief and support to people who are claustrophobic. At Su-vastika, we constantly strive to reinvent and improvise to make technology easy and practical. We have 35 additional patents in the pipeline and are looking forward to seeing them come to light.”
