A 33/11kV substation was recently inaugurated in Bandipora in the UT of Jammu & Kashmir, as part of the “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ programme, a release from Power Finance Corporation (PFC) said.

The release said that the 10 MVA substation, commissioned under the Centrally-sponsored Integrated Power Development Scheme (IPDS), is located at Nusso in Bandipora district.

PFC is the nodal agency of IPDS, while REC Power Distribution Company Ltd (RECPDCL) is the implementation agency.

The inauguration ceremony is a part of ‘Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav’ celebrations marking 75 years of India’s independence.

The substation, sanctioned with a cost of Rs 3.85 crore, will benefit more than 2,400 households in areas of Nishat Bandipora, Baghi Bandipora, Nusso, Lankreshara, Papchan and the surrounding areas. Additionally, the substation will reduce the curtailment of power supply in the region, the PFC release added.

The substation will also ensure that the Ajar station gets relieved by 450 amps of electricity.
