The Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), a fully-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, announced the successful completion of its first training workshop on ’Safety and Grounding/Earthing’ and Train-the-Trainer program for select employees of Ethiopian Electric Utility (EEU) from at Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The training workshop, held during July 9-13, 2018, was the first among the four to be conducted during the current financial year. The training programme is a a joint initiative of US Energy Association and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The training aims to impart advanced in-depth skills along with a module on Train-the-Trainer to enable the participants to become internal training resources for EEU.
TPSDI will also be conducting the following three workshops during the current fiscal year:
- Safety and Isolating Equipment (circuit breakers)
- Safety and Transformer Maintenance
- Safety and Switching
In October 2017, TPSDI had successfully trained 48 employees of EEU on ‘Substation Maintenance’ which was well received by its sponsors and the trainees.
