Tata Power Delhi Distribution Ltd (Tata Power DDL) has launched a discount scheme on energy-efficient all-weather air-conditioners, exclusively for its consumers.
In partnership with Voltas, Tata Power DDL will be offering a discount of nearly 40 per cent on MRP of 1.0- and 1.5-ton split air-conditioners.
In a release, the private power utility serving 7 million consumers in north Delhi said that the scheme was open for all segments of consumers, and for any number of ACs purchased.
The ACs with a 5-star energy efficiency rating (the highest awarded by Bureau of Energy Efficiency) are all-weather inverter-based appliances, suitable for use in both hot and cold weather.
With this launch, Tata Power DDL has added another energy-efficient product to its existing product portfolio of LED bulbs, tube lights, ELCBs and ceiling fans. The utility aims to promote the usage of energy-efficient products among its consumer base which will result in energy saving and reduction in electricity bills.
Under this scheme, consumers of Tata Power-DDL can buy new ACs or exchange their old ACs for 1-ton or 1.5-ton energy-efficient ACs, manufactured by Voltas.
The scheme has been launched especially targeting the residential consumer as the domestic sector accounts for almost 50 per cent of energy consumption in Delhi and power consumption of ACs is a major component of the same.
The usage of the 5-star rated ACs can help reduce electricity consumption sharply, the release added.
For instance, a Tata Power DDL consumer, under this scheme, can purchase a new 1.0-ton AC, with an MRP of Rs.69,990, for Rs.43,989 (inclusive of installation charges of Rs.999). Consumers can also exchange their old ACs for a buyback price of Rs.2,500 per unit.
