Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL) successfully met the peak power demand of 1713 mw — the highest for this season — touched on June 18, 2020, without any network constraint and power outage. Delhi as a whole also touched season’s high of 5925 mw amidst the ongoing heat wave, a statement by Tata Power DDL said.
As per India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi is witnessing a severe heat wave with temperatures in the range of 44-46 degrees. The Department has already declared a Red Alert in the city so that the service providers and the government agencies can plan things in advance for the overall public good.
Tata Power-DDL has made adequate arrangements of power of up to 2,500 mw along with contingency planning, through long-term tie-ups , bilateral imports & power banking arrangements with other states and upgraded network to ensure regular supply in its area of distribution.
Tata Power-DDL adequately prepared for the summer season even during the lockdown by strengthening its power network and conducting preventive maintenance and condition based maintenance of all critical electrical installations, the release from Tata Power DDL said.
