The awards process rates manufacturing organizations on their ability to evolve the right competitive strategy along with their capability to implement it. The role of the International Research Institute for Manufacturing (IRIM) as an unbiased third party is to evaluate and rate each company on its unique Manufacturing Competitiveness Index.
This rating is achieved through a structured assessment of the manufacturing facility on 10 indicators of manufacturing competitiveness, which are building blocks behind the calculation of this index. The assessment is customized for each facility by assigning unique weightage to each of these indicators based on organization’s priorities to become more competitive.
Built on 84,000 sqm of land at Chakan, Pune, the state- of- the- art multi-purpose facility (MPF) of thyssenkrupp Elevator (India) is in line with the Indian government’s “Make in India” initiative to promote local manufacturing.
