In addition to three similar projects clinched earlier this month, Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (PGCIL) has now been declared successful bidder for two more transmission projects that involve power evacuation from upcoming solar parks in Rajasthan.
In a stock exchange filing, PGCIL said that it has been declared as the successful bidder under to establish following two projects on build, own operate and maintain (BOOM) basis for:
- “Transmission Systems Strengthening Scheme for evacuation of power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part D”. The Letter of Intent dated February 16, 2021, has been issued to PGCIL for establishment of 765kV double-circuit transmission line and associated substation extension works in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh; and
- “Transmission Systems Strengthening Scheme for evacuation of power from Solar Energy Zones in Rajasthan (8.1 GW) under Phase-II Part-F”. The Letter of Intent dated February 16, 2021, has been issued to PGCIL for establishment of a new 400/220kV substation, STATCOM, and substation extension works in Rajasthan and also 400kV double-circuit transmission lines traversing Rajasthan and Haryana.
Both the projects were awarded under the tariff-based competitive bidding (TBCB) modality.
