Solar module manufacturer Vikram Solar has announced the commissioning of a rooftop solar plant at its own manufacturing plant at Falta in Kolkata.
The plant with 987.2 KW capacity consists of 2,584 solar panels, covering an area of 6,500 sqm.
The solar panels are of individual capacity ranging from 325Wp – 400Wp, together capable of generating 1409.58 MWh per year. To store the energy generated from the plant they have installed 14 Solar grid connected inverters from Sungrow, Huawei and Solis.
This is a unique project on its own as it uses 12 different types of modules and a mix of half-cut and full-cut cells in the modules manufactured by Vikram Solar. Constructing the project with the difference in module size was the main challenge faced and due to which the module mounting structures had to be adjusted as per requirement for each row and the module to module looping as there were mixing of half-cut and full-cut module, Vikram Solar said in a release.
Vikram Solar Ltd (formerly Vikram Solar Pvt Ltd) is a solar energy solutions provider, specializing in efficient PV module manufacturing and comprehensive EPC solutions. The company’s annual photovoltaic cell production capacity stands at 1.2 GW.
